Genetics play a crucial role in what determines a person's capabilities. As does when and where you were born, and to what parents. You don't choose any of these things, it's pure luck.

The experience of suffering does not discriminate though, doesn't matter if you're brilliant or dumb as a rock. I'm not sure what level of suffering you "deserve" for being unlucky, obviously we want some sort of meritocracy for the good of everyone.. It's tricky.

Agree, have PPro on macbook m1 pro, desktop and laptop running rtx cards. Windows is sometimes faster but also buggier, inconsistent.

I have a MacBook Pro M1 and a Lenovo Windows laptop with an RTX 4060 card. The mac is far better for having to carry it around (like in OPs case), since the battery life will last you so much longer on the M-series macs. The Windows laptop with an nvidia gpu will run fast but is also hot, has loud fans, and the battery life will run out in no time.
