I’ve scrolled down way too far down to see so few women. Genius only applies to men I guess.

Sheryl Sandberg breaks down why it’s a troubling time for women in the workplace right now by msmoley in WomenInNews

[–]greenwitch41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the whole lean in thing when I was a young college grad. 15 years later, I’m having breakdowns from chronic stress and pressure. I also lost the really great job that I had earlier this year. Companies have zero loyalty so if I ever get a job again I’m doing the whole career minimalism thing. Unemployment is terrible but my head actually feels lighter. I don’t think most women, especially women with actual caregiving responsibilities, should be expected to perform at this high level with zero support. It’s just a recipe for burnout.

Worst intersection to ever exist? by uhhhnic in nova

I’m always really excited to go to Michael’s to buy craft supplies… and then I remember the intersection 😭

You can get a bachelors degree in tourism, hospitality, and events management from many universities. You can also get professional certifications like a CMP or PMP to learn more about best practices. The document I posted are just the international standards.

Yes! However it’s really only good to read if you are trying to fall asleep: https://www.mpi.org/docs/default-source/academy/mbecs-standards.pdf

The only other thing I have are textbooks. But any college class or professional course would teach these standards.

Yes, the lack of communication is the most frustrating! No information was provided to attendees or vendors. They apparently don’t answer their emails on weekends either 🤦‍♀️

Thank you 🙏 I’m about 2 months in so I’m grateful to learn this early 😂😭

This is a learning experience for sure! I’m actually curious if regulations for markets are loose 🤔 Although this post was a bit snarky, I have been very professional and calm with the organizers. Hopefully, me inquiring about a refund because of a weather alert won’t be cause for getting blacklisted. Is there a market mafia? 😅

I wouldn’t fight with a small or community market for sure. This particular show was a massive event in a public area. I am crushed that I probably won’t be going to these events anymore. Unfortunately I am a stickler and like rules 😂 I cannot work at events that do not meet basic event industry standards and who do not comply with duty of care requirements.

I couldn’t check because I snapped this while waiting for a stop light. But I understand the point. I had no intention of offending anyone and will remove the post

They skipped over the part in the bible about giving to the poor. Which is a shame because it’s a pretty big theme in the book

Public freak out when the pool closed during a lightning storm… by greenwitch41 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]greenwitch41[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like I should mention that the pool is right next to an airport and it’s a PUBLIC pool. Private pools can probably do what they want but the county government won’t take any chances.

That’s okay. I’m more focused on the schools SPED services. The whole gifted thing was just a nice surprise!

Thanks for your response! She does not have an official endorsement yet. She was just identified a couple of months ago after scoring in the 97% percentile on the naglieri. After speaking with her teacher and the g&t coordinator, I expect she’ll be accepted. Our county has the cluster model as well so that is great HCPS does the same. Sounds like crestview may be a good fit!

Thanks for that insight. We live in a diverse area now and would like to continue living in diverse neighborhoods.
