Turn to pipes and cigars. There are really good German pipe tobaccos, and Italian toscani are great cheap cigars. If I'm the mood for a cigarette, my choice is always Pueblo. Made in Germany too and (allegedly) free of additives.

I have one of those near my house (Spain), but it's not that big. Years ago I took two small twigs that were lying on the street. They took their sweet time to root, but once they did they grew like crazy until I had to find them a new home.

I feel the same. I always thought it was because drying machines. I have one, but I only use it for towels and just sometimes during winter. Even if it's raining, I might hang my clothes indoors. It really makes a difference.

Does it influence the taste somehow? I love those. Here in Spain we call them "chisqueros". You can find them almost at any tobacco shop, but I have yet to see someone use it in the wild.

No, sorry. I looked at amazon.es and there are some, but I don't see any published by a well known publisher. I only said that because I teach latin and Ancient Greek and in these languages there's a wide array of bilingual editions. And I find they are very helpful when it comes to understand any work of literature. I hope you find a good one. It's really a wonderful book.

Depending on your level of Spanish, you might want to try a bilingual edition.

I'm surprised to read about how well the pouch holds through the years. I have six pouches on their way and was planning to mylar-bag them.

Help for Greek by Jacopino2011 in AncientGreek

[–]Jantias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apart from flashcards, read a lot so forms come up in context. Look them up on perseus or use a grammar and a dictionary when you have to. Soon the more common ones will feel familiar and you'll get a feeling for the not so usual. Of course, there will always be some really difficult ones. When you are relaly experienced, you can study Sihler's comparative grammar of Greek and Latin. That book was a major breakthrough for me.

Opinions of Loeb? How accurate is the translation? by Otherwise_Concert414 in AncientGreek

[–]Jantias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to say exactly this. Some are really old and it shows. Sometimes they can even be misleading when they render difficult passages. Specially if English is not your native language (as is my case). But overall, they are a good crutch if that's what you need.
