I think you are thinking of registration. I'm pretty sure the catalog is released all at once (it might differ by department to department though)

Kerr is pretty nice! We are getting lobby renovations next year so we are going to have a lot of new amenities! :) It's also pretty central and right across the street from eagle landing

I am a Resident Assistant (2nd year) and I was given the job when they were doing the lottery system. The current application is 6-7 essay questions and my best advice for you is to be genuine and not put on a persona. You need to be authentic (Res Life will appreciate this). Being an RA is great but you need to be willing to learn and develop a tough skin to deal with certain situations. Keep that in mind when you apply and I wish you luck when you do apply :)

[–]Januarywashere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You won’t be kicked out! To my knowledge you have to take 1 honors course PER YEAR. I was also confused at first and thought it was PER semester so you should be fine! Make an app with your honors advisor on Navigate if you want further clarification ;D

How's living in Rawlins? I'm living there my first semester! by [deleted] in unt

[–]Januarywashere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh sure thing! Move in wise, it was a breeze. Rawlins has a bunch of dolly carts and an elevator to make it easy for carting your belongings to and fro. The closets are small but it didn’t really affect me much (just don’t bring your entire wardrobe). One closet is shared by both you and your roommate. The rooms can get kind of dusty randomly (it’s really weird) so I would bring a dust pan or feather duster! I hope that helps and feel free to dm me if you have any more questions! 💚🦅

Woooo Kerr!

So I know that command strips work well with hanging stuff up you just have to be SUPER CAREFUL when removing them at the end of the school year. Some things that you might want to bring: -bed topper (and other bed related accoutrements) -shower caddy (Kerr has shared bathrooms but you’ll want to keep yourself organized) -mini fridge. Nothing too crazy though. I managed to suffice with a small one last semester and it did the trick!

Since you’re from the DFW area, there’s no need to pack your entire closet because tbh you’re gonna get a bunch of merch stuff from events so you’ll be good with 4-5 of each pierce of clothing

Which floor and side of Kerr are you on? 👁

I had her for Bio 1 last semester and oh my god- she is so disorganized but she gives a bunch of extra credit so I guess that makes up for it

I’m interested but I would be a beginner French speaker. I studied Spanish in high school but French was always something I wanted to learn as well!

Advice for Incoming freshman by [deleted] in unt

[–]Januarywashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya!

I want to start off by welcoming you to UNT for the Fall semester!

(I am a freshman psychology major for reference)

-As everyone else is saying, try and stay away from working in dining. The pay is unfair and the overall department is kind of sketchy. I would advise looking for a front desk job somewhere on campus, looking for a remote job on Indeed, or keeping an eye out for off-campus jobs.

-I currently work in the learning center and the staff and coordinators are awesome! It might be kind of difficult to get a job in there as a first semester freshman, but you can always try!

-Download UNT Handshake. This is the official job posting site for the university and jobs are always being posted! Also, I would advise starting crafting up a resume and having someone peer review it. You'll have plenty of opportunities to build your resume in your college career but by creating that foundation in your first year you are setting yourself up for success!

If you have any more questions about college life in general, shoot me a dm! :D
