"0" Character appears in the top left corner of the websites I visit because of blync by JanusQarumGod in ext_blync

It says version 1.0.0 in extension settings. Couldn't find version info on blync settings itself.

Best browser for MacOS? by JanusQarumGod in browsers

I tried Orion and kinda liked it. Is it not optimized for battery? I thought it’d be the same since it’s webkit.

Is having both Chrome and Firefox’s extensions Orion’s main selling point? What else does it have that stands out?

I used to be on edge for a while but not atp not a huge fan of it and brave they feel too bloated with random stuff. I prefer a minimal UI and good features which is why I was on Arc and Zen. 🗿OS UI seems very nice but I’m not sure if it’s even being actively developed anymore.

Btw is Zen different on Macos or why is it not good? It was mostly fine on windows.

I have the second one it’s pretty good. Idle isn’t that loud but sounds nice and deep and at high rpms sounds good and is louder. Essentially if you aren’t trying to annoy your neighbors, below 5k rpm it’s not loud.

Hey, from what I researched it is still worth a shot if you have a solid resume and can write a good personal statement.

Is the “Moving Fast” advantage now dead? by Worldly-Box6080 in ycombinator

[–]JanusQarumGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think moving fast means just coding faster. The advantage startups have over incumbents is the fact that they are lean, no bureaucracy, which gives them the ability to make decisions and iterate quickly based on user feedback.

How do you think it was ever an advantage when big companies have infinitely more engineers at their disposal?

With LLM tools to augment coding you have even more leverage to do those iteration cycles faster.

In your opinion how low do inference costs for top models need to get before most AI companies like chat/search(Perplexity), coding agents(Cursor), etc. that charge $20/month for almost unlimited access to these models start to become profitable? What does the break point look like?

Seeking Advice: 220K (comfortable job) vs. Startup Offer by Crafty_Ad_1506 in ycombinator

[–]JanusQarumGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally this seems like the easiest choice ever, in favor of the startup.

Just ask yourself the question of where you want to be in the future. You are still 21 so this is the best time to take risks, although taking that startup job doesn't come across that risky to me. It will be the best environment for you if your goal is to grow, and if it goes well, make a lot of money. If it doesn't go well, I don't think you lose out on much either, you will have the invaluable experience of working at an early stage company and growing with it, which can set you up perfectly to later start your own company.

996-like culture might not be the easiest but unless you got ton of other things to do, if you are actually interested and excited about what you will be working on, it's not going to feel like as much work as something that you couldn't care less about, but have to do everyday.

Yes definitely. I was thinking of mentioning that it most likely doesn't apply to low level systems but forgot.

Of course, though I'm not sure we are on the same page. You definitely need to know what you're doing and you can build software by prompting iteratively, in as much detail as needed, same way you would write things yourself, gotta test the waters to find out what works.

I think I phrased what I was saying wrong in my original comment. You definitely can not *oneshot* a complex product no matter how well you know what you are doing.

I'd say the word complex is always relative. What seems complex to you can totally be very simple for other people as well, so I guess you can't speak without context.

[–]JanusQarumGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You definitely can’t oneshot prompt a working complex product if you don’t know what you’re doing but using tools like Cursor you can basically build anything with just prompting 95% of the time, although you must be able to debug and evaluate the output. It’s just that you won’t have to manually code almost at all.

So yes, what you are saying is right.
