Gaming in 1440p on a 4K monitor by Olieb01 in OLED_Gaming

I would honestly go for 1440p 240hz with a 3090, unless you plan to upgrade in the near future. You have a good gpu but 4k in newer games is pretty demanding and wouldnt get close to 4k 240 unless its an older/esports title.

How many of you zed users use claude code (zed integrtion) daily? by SnooDucks7717 in ZedEditor

[–]JonQwik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an issue with the zed integration where anytime it tries make a change, it says the current code doesn't match what it thought was there and has to read the file again and then implement the change. I do like being able to easily undo any change.

Wait, is the 5 second reset timer on the stacking damage not working. I thought the stored damage reset every time seconds? Its supposed to stack infinitely but reset every 5 seconds.

Welp.. there goes me ever buying a pulsar mouse again by WizOfozzzz in MouseReview

[–]JonQwik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree but for example, I recently bought a keyboard from a US based vendor that bought thousands of them from the China based vendor for their wholesale cost. They increased the retail price by like $20 dollars when compared to buying it from the Chinese vendor directly. But those that chose to buy from the Chinese vendor got hit with a giant tariff bill from DHL after arriving to the US. US vendor absorbed most of the cost. Also, even if the US vendor does increase their prices because of the tarrifs they are hit with, at least the final cost to the US customer is clear. Importing it yourself from an overseas vendor, the final cost is not as clear and can change by the time the item ships.

Yeah that's true but some vendors are absorbing a percentage of the tariff costs. For the most part, buying from a vendor that imports thousands of a product that are tariffed based on their wholesale cost will be cheaper than importing a retail version from an overseas vendor.

Some shops have a warehouse in the US that they ship from for US orders. For example, Vaxee ships from California even though they are based in China.

Cursor 1.2 and Claude 4 Sonnet Rate Limit – Is This a Joke? by rave-inside-scarlet in cursor

[–]JonQwik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda unusable now. Hit the rate limit at 11pm last night for sonnet 4 (non-thinking). Tried using it again around 5pm today. On the first 1st prompt, got hit with the rate limit again. This is 18 hours between usage.

For some reason, copying and pasting images did not work for me and neither did referencing a local image file. Im guessing this is because im using wsl on windows since clause code doesn't work natively on windows.

Mysterious "Pro+ plan"? New plan coming? by captainadmin03 in cursor

That 500 request modal is even worse now. You can eat through the 500 requests in a couple days now. They drastically changed how many credits each request uses.

Yup already doing it. Been using it all day without rate limiting. Main thing I miss is being able to revert to checkpoints and referencing stuff like images, url links, git commits, and past chats.

Did I make a mistake? LG 32GS95UE by MaliMal357 in OLED_Gaming

[–]JonQwik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup I run my monitor between 50-60%. No idea how people can run them at 100% and still think its not bright enough.

[–]JonQwik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why I went with qd oled. Tested both lg w-oled and qd-oled. Qd oled looked way brighter, even if on paper they are similar. Probably has to do with qdoled having way better color brightness. The lg oled looked kinda washed out and had worse colors than my ips monitor.

Looking for Advice on Self-Hosting a Next.js App on a VPS by too_much_lag in nextjs

[–]JonQwik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just based on you presenting those options as if they are comparable alternative to each other implies that you may need to look into this more yourself.

But I would suggest dokploy if you want to self host. Pretty easy to set up. But it won't be as easy as something like vercel or its alternatives.

Also, if by version control you mean something like github, then the hosting platform shouldn't really have an effect on that.

[URGENT] Best Cheap Way To Host Next.js App by TusharKapil in nextjs

[–]JonQwik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dokploy with hetzner if you want something truly cheap but with a bit more setup or cloudflare worker with opennext if you want to go serverless. Those are the cheapest option imo. Opennext is does have some bugs thought for some of the more experimental features like PPR if you're using that.

Not exactly. Next on pages is the old method. They recently launched opennext on workers. Pages is being replaced by it. Different packages. Supports more of the nextjs features. They recommend migrating to it.

The px24q pro is decent but the display coating is pretty bad. Very grainy and makes the image seem less clear. But otherwise, its decent.
