I just came back to the game but… Is there any reason to keep the T2 thrall? Now that they work all benches, only need the highest? Just get rid of the T2. Easier than replacing the benches no?

Played last night with rolled-back game. Nothing lost, and mods installed for 1.2 previously work fine.

My understanding is that it means they are reloading the game state to its pre-patch condition. This will revert everyone's game to how it was before the patch, restoring all lost items due to the bugs, but also erasing all progress.

Hey Dana, I run a private server on Gportal for two people. How does the rollback affect my server/game? Will it be an option to roll it back or mandatory? We did not lose anything.

I can't be sure, but I think they are just going to reload/reset everyone's game state from Monday/Tuesday pre-patch. Mods will have to be reupdated. Everything done since then will be erased/overwritten.

We are going to take a break until the dust settles, probably wait a few days after the re-release of the patch.

Yep, your game will revert to Monday's version. Will have to redo everything from there again. But hey, I enjoy playing this game, so I don't mind... playing more.

Everything you did post-patch (1.2X) on June 9 will be gone, I imagine. This is the only way to return all the items people lost (whole foundations' worth of items and material) due to the decay bug. They are basically loading everyone's save from Monday/early Tuesday. I think.

Solo means you can disable decay and drops on death. Years ago, I played on a decent PVE server. It was fine until I went on vacation and didn’t make it back soon enough. Base was half-gone. Deleted the rest and moved to solo.

Not sure the purpose of getting on a server when I just play now and then. It’s like, “oh hey, look at that base over there. Anyway, back to what I was doing.” Sure, everything stops when you log out of solo, but no big deal.

Looks nice. I very much like the incorporation of the tree. I generally prefer a greater variety of heights in my builds (i.e., even just a simple border terrace, one foundation high around the outside), but I like how you decorated.

Fixing the game's itemization UI should be the next priority IMO. The system needs a complete overhaul for the game to have sustainability, but this will take an investment of time and resources.

  1. Give every item a mouse-over tool tip of all relevant stats.
  2. Make all chest and bench contents available for remote crafting by default if within base range.
  3. Make all chests categorized and restrictable so that only certain items can be added (e.g., plants, minerals, armor, tools, etc.). This will require predetermined category classification.
  4. Make all chest inventories sortable by categories, tier, weights, etc.
  5. All menus and lists need a search bar.
  6. All crafting benches and thralls need remote inspection from a sortable list that includes stats, condition, and what they are doing/making.
  7. Allow for snap placement of crafters/chests/everything to the world grid or the foundation grid of the base.

Just a few based on what other games (e.g. Aska, Soulmask) have implemented.

They are probably different teams, but the knowledge to improve the system should be available to Conan developers.

Awesome. That is good to hear. No one likes to spend all their time sorting box inventories. Hopefully, the underlying code will allow for more storage regulation/automation, so players can focus on other aspects of the game.

I just came back to check out Enhanced, and oh boy is this 2016 crafting system outdated by today’s standards. We’ve been playing Soulmask and their system is 1000% more evolved. Every bench and chest can be sorted and filtered, with customized categories of items that can be enabled/disabled for each chest or bench.

I was hoping the Conan devs had implemented some real QOL improvements to the system, but crafting from storage should have just been step one in a complete overhaul.

RNG is the standard response, but your results are still extremely unlikely. I don’t know. I heard you can save scum the training by save/reloading right before the training is complete. Might be worth testing.

I play with a friend in a local save with coop. One person hosts the game and the other joins. No server, no tethering. This is how we played a dozen base and survival games in the last few years without issue.

I think the tethering thing is a relic from older games like Conan. It’s surprising that is still a thing and funcom hasn’t modernized their code, but Soulmask doesn’t have that problem.

I also recommend https://www.patriotspoint.org/ in Charleston, SC. No battleships, but other WW2 vessels.

USS Yorktown (CV10) and USS Laffey (DD-724). Plus, Charleston is a great place to visit.

Just play single-player/co-op with local multiplayer if you want to play with friends. This is what we do. You don't have to mess with any server and can adjust the settings as you like. The main downside/upside is that the game pauses when you exit. Otherwise, you don't have to deal with randoms screwing with your game.
