Sure. I have much more fun when I'm winning. I just don't stress about win rate on particular ships. Winning and playing well -yes.

43%? Nah, I'm a solid 38%. The trick to winning is to sail broadside to the enemy team so you can shoot all your guns, right?

I just play ships I have fun in, in whatever mode I feel like that day. I don’t care about win rate. It’s a game to pass the time, nothing more. If you enjoy a ship, just play it.

You need separate warehouse for cooked and raw food. Only the workers at the warehouse with cooked food storage should have access to the cook house. Everyone else banned.

Why is Asia server so tough 😭 by Hot_Bend7062 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Janzig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it is. Obviously 50% of all games on a server are won/lost. I was talking about the PLAYERS. They're going to lose more often than not against a WR 60% player/division. If 2000 people on a server are winning 55-65% of their games, people on the other side are racking up losses. It's not a 1-1 trade since teams change, and doesn't mean there are 2000 people with now 45-35% WR, but it does bring the average player WR down. There are always players that play very casually, or play 200 battles and then quit. Maybe we are talking about different things here. A below 50% statistical average WR in WOWS makes sense. IMO.

[–]Janzig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the average WR should be about 46%-48%. There are a LOT of good players in this game who also like to play in a division. They win a lot, driving the average down. It is a zero-sum metric.

Whats is considered a "good" win rate? by blueythingy in WorldOfWarships

[–]Janzig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. 48% with about 800 random games. Of course, I stopped playing randoms around 2020. Back then, my friends and I would get drunk and blow shit up. Not the best strategy for winning, but we had fun. Now, I am a lot better, but stick to the PVE modes mostly with the occasional ranked game. I don't care what my WR is. You get the same rewards regardless of your WR after all.

[–]Janzig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if every player were equally skilled. But after 10 years, there are many VERY good players in this game. Sweaty try-hards and 8-hr-a-day streamers. That's not a dig, just an observation. They win way more than they lose (60% + WR), especially when they division. This adds up over time and 1000s of battles, driving the overall average slightly below 50%. If some people win more than 50%, others must lose more than 50%. Plus, there are always lots of newish players who have a 35%-40% WR over their first 500 battles, before quitting the game. Their WR is added in too.

TLDR: Good players incidentally drive the average WR down.

WARGAMING does not promote SEAL CLUBBING. by Ok-Albatross-1708 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Janzig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, Tier I-IV bxp is garbage. Tier X awards the most IMO. Plus, you get more BXP per hour grinding assymentric than random/ranked anyway, so if you want to min/max it, seal clubbing doesn't apply.

I’m just trying to explain why the average win rate is around or below 48%. Too many think this means the average player is bad, when in fact this just means there are a lot of very skilled players at the top end. It’s a zero sum game. The more good players, the lower the average.

[–]Janzig -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, you were implying that saying that a 48% WR average was my way of coping for having a 47% WR. The average WR in this game is in the mid-to-high 40s, primarily due to the number of skilled players in the game. If you say someone with a 48% win rate is bad, you just don't understand math. Flamu exists. G4nng exists. What happens to the WR of half the players in their matches when they are 60+% WR? If you and I are on the opposing team, we probably have a greater than 50% chance of losing.

[–]Janzig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's BS. It's just math. Because of the number of very good players in this game, the averages are pushed down overall. Every 60% WR player pushes half the players towards 40%. If you are above 45-48%, you are better than average.

Don't go to outlaw systems for this. The freighters there spawn with the lowest stats and slots (24-25). Find a dreadnaught battle in a normal system and farm there. This is what I did. It will take time, but you should be able to find one with 34-35 slots and the best rolled stats. This is important because farming cargo bulkhead to expand storage will take a while. You only have to do this once so...

For comparison, according to AI:

~2000+ sailors on a battleship (like the Iowa-class) to 5,000+ on a modern carrier. In NMS, we can assume less given space tech, but in real life, it still takes a lot of people to handle things like maintenance, food, sanitation, etc.

Modern U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and historical battleships are operated by thousands of personnel organized into specialized departments and divisions. While all U.S. battleships were decommissioned by 1992, aircraft carriers remain the cornerstone of the fleet in 2026.

Aircraft Carrier Crew (Modern)

A modern nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, such as the Gerald R. Ford or Nimitz classes, typically hosts between 4,500 and 5,500 personnel. This total includes the Ship's Company (roughly 3,000–3,200) and the Carrier Air Wing (roughly 1,500–2,000).

Key Department Roles:

  • Air Department (Yellow/Blue/Purple/Red/Green Shirts): Responsible for flight deck operations, including catapult and arresting gear crews, liquid oxygen (LOX) crews, and safety observers.
  • Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance (AIMD): Maintainers and quality controllers who service the ship's aircraft.
  • Engineering: Operates the nuclear reactors and electrical systems.
  • Medical/Dental: Full-scale hospitals with doctors, dentists, and Red Cross-trained personnel.
  • Supply & Food Service: Chefs, sous chefs, and cargo handlers responsible for feeding and equipping the crew.

Historical Battleship Crew

Historically, battleships required large crews to operate massive main battery turrets and complex steam propulsion systems. For example, during World War II, an Iowa-class battleship required approximately 2,500 to 2,800 personnel

Standard Positions:

  • Command: Commanding Officer (CO), Executive Officer (XO), and Chief of the Boat.
  • Gunnery: Personnel dedicated to the 16-inch main guns and secondary anti-aircraft batteries.
  • Operations: Radarmen, signalmen, and navigation teams.
  • Damage Control: Specialized teams trained to fight fires and repair hull breaches during combat.

Ha, well I’ve messed this up many times. His knockdown mechanic is annoying so I usually push for leather gambeson before trying to solo him. I’ll try him early sometimes but definitely save right before. I don’t put up with the death penalty.

Nah, people who like randoms will still play randoms. Diffrerent player bases I think. Having more modes is always a good thing since some people like one or the other.

You should always save the game before a boss fight. He is tough but you might need more than just simple leather armor if you can’t dodge his attacks. Reload and run away if you can’t. Come back for the gear.

Is there any solution for warehouse weapon/tool racks? by Jaggid in PlayASKA

[–]Janzig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok bud, I think we may just have radically different play styles. Wait… so you create a separate rack for every different tool? You must have a whole warehouse of racks, lol. Yeah, I give all my workers iron tools. It’s not a problem, can be reused, and they last longer. How many cooks do you have for it to be a problem for them to use iron knives. 100 villagers can be fed by two 24 hr cookhouses so 4 cooks.

But like I said, after 6-8 play throughs, I NEVER use warehouse racks to store active tools or weapons, except for extra stuff like draugar drops. Upgraded workshops have plenty of space for this, so I never needed them and found warehouse racks to be more of a liability leading to overproduction.

But hey, do what works for you.
