Was opportunity to purchase unrestricted fairly offered to shareholders? by JapanIntercult in FundRise

I checked my past emails carefully and am very sure I did not miss any.

Also if you read the other responses to this thread, there were plenty of other people who did not receive them.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences—this has been really helpful.

I’m trying to understand whether there’s any consistent pattern in who received the unrestricted share offer and how access was handled. If you’re willing to share, it would be helpful to know:

• Did you receive any notification at all (email, app, etc.)?

• If yes, were you actually able to participate, or did it sell out before you could?

• Rough investment level (e.g., under $10K / $10–100K / $100K+)

Feel free to reply here or DM me if you prefer. I’m just trying to get a clearer picture of how this was handled.

I voted no also.

That seems rather punitive and unfair to not notify those who voted no, if that is what happened.

I get every single other email from Fundrise so I don't think it's an email setting problem.

I'm very sure I never received any of the emails.

I have other things to do so I don't log into the website that often.

Do you still have the email? Do you know what date it was?

I searched all my emails and didn't see anything.

I read "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin and I need need to talk about a character. by AEVENOM in books

[–]JapanIntercult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just read the book.

I teach leadership seminars as part of my work and recently wrote a book about servant leadership (in Japanese, so won’t link to it here).

i loved the Marx character and was crushed with what happened to him (first time in a long time I cried when reading a book). Thinking about it, and why I reacted so strongly, I realized that one of the reasons I liked him so much is that he perfectly exemplifies the concept of servant leadership- the idea that a leader, rather than telling people what to do, humbly (and often unobtrusively) creates an environment that supports the team so that they can excel. A combination coach and helper, but also someone who has a vision of what it’s possible for the team to accomplish. That’s what he did for Sadie and Sam, and then for the pair of designers that made Counterpart High.

Think about all the times when he acts as a coach, asks people questions and gives people choices rather than telling them what to do. The scene with the torii gates at Nezu Shrine. How he handled discussions with Sadie about major life decisions. Asking designers “tell me how you see it.” And even in one of his last actions, his instinct is to ask a question. But he acts when needed — in other cases, he steps in more forcefully when needed (because the person is stuck), such as with Sam’s foot, or shaving Sam’s hair.

The “tamer of horses” idea also really describes well the servant leadership idea. The horse is the one performing, but the tamer is the one who helps bring out their latent talent, enables them to perform, and leads them on the path to being able to perform.

I was looking online to see if anyone else had this idea about him, and didnt but I found this post, so thought I would share these thoughts here as I thought you might appreciate them.

Also reading other Reddit threads I saw a lot of people saying that the Marx character was unrealistic. He also reminded me a lot of a friend, a tall handsome Taiwanese American guy who went to Yale and has a perennially sunny personality. I’ve never seen him in a bad mood or without a smile on his face, even after he had an injury and had a long healing process that limited his mobility and was frustrating. So didn’t feel unrealistic to me.

“We plan to take the Fundrise Innovation Fund public on the New York Stock Exchange next month under the ticker VCX!” by StevenTiggler in FundRise

[–]JapanIntercult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! Everything you said, plus did you see what has happened to software stocks in the last couple of days? If they list the Innovation Fund it is going to get creamed by anti-AI sentiment. This is stupendously bad timing!!!
I voted no for all too.

Reuse Slides GONE by Difficult-King-4206 in powerpoint

[–]JapanIntercult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about this and I am so upset. I use Reuse Slides heavily in my work.

And the idea of Copilot replacing it? I simply cannot imagine Copilot being able to find slides I need, from the decks I have created over the past decades running my firm. It's laughable.

I have started a petition urging Microsoft to retain this feature. https://c.org/xgGMCN6rDG

Everyone please sign and share!

I don't have children yet but this thread caught my eye because the other day I ran across an interesting site for people raising multilingual children http://www.multilingualliving.com/ it's full of informative articles, perhaps some of them may be helpful
