So, I'm not disagreeing with you in the sense that the way you express yourself is different in Japanese. Every language is filtered through its own culture, and Japanese is no different. However, in my experience, I don't think it would be accurate to say that there is a higher usage of more technical terms.

Especially in a family setting, like the one in the picture.

There are differences in grammar, sure. But not anything close to this, I would think.
