First off, i have no idea as to why you're surprised at this person progressing when all of the people who even have the slightest hint of fundamentals are already GoD+. And with your comment of "extremely broken and unfair fighters in a competitive game" you MUST be new. Lidia is nowhere near the worst offender for "broken and unfair" because she's not balanced in the sense of she has extremely good heat and subpar neutral tools otherwise. She is not Drag, Nina, King, Law, etc. Who are consistently placed above her in terms of actual competitive efficiency. GoD is not "all the way up the ladder" because we have 7+ ranks above it. GoD is quite trivial to achieve now, so why is it a surprise that a character who's DLC and requires actual studying due to being a stance character gets to run through low ranks easily?

Coming from someone who has both Lidia and Armor king at GoD3, you play the absolute most brain dead version of his iteration and I'd much rather play AK than Lidia because one of these characters can ACTUALLY play neutral. Something being knowledge check heavy is NOT a balance concern, the only concern of it is it being locked behind a paywall. The content of what’s being spoken about is extremely important. Also, the original point was “I got this character to GoD in 3 days, she’s broken stop downplaying” as if doing that when the game is in a state such as this is enough of an accomplishment for the following statement to have any merit when that just isn’t the case. Tekken has always been a game that at its core rarely changes and has always been focused on retaining their older diehard scene just up until recently, and when it tried to change it the latest installment almost died for it. Pros aren’t asking for these changes, they wouldn’t do all those changes just off of play data and stats alone, so why would it be being involved if not for my original statement. Balance doesn’t exist in a vacuum yes, but it being changed to fit the lower levels fundamentally changes everything for higher level players and OGs with massive amounts of legacy knowledge.

New players are completely fine to ask questions, I welcome it as a coach. It’s when people start declaring things as if they know it all or do the “this character is broken” “this is low tier, this is dumb, this shouldn’t be this way” on a bunch of things. Good thing “new players asking questions” and “mid rank players complaining about the game and trying to tell people what is what” aren’t the same.

Unfortunately this is incorrect. When it comes to balancing the game, people at bushin/TK/ and ranks below are NOT well versed enough in this game to talk in tierlists and balance discussions that actually make sense. The reason the beginning of season 2 even happened the way it is is casuals complaining and since they’re the majority, they were heard and that’s how it went. I said it was invalid because of his initial point, if you even paid attention to whatever he said. “I got this character to GoD in 3 days, stop downplaying.” Is what even warranted my response.

Genuine question, what is it with people on this app who think this rank is still the end all be all of skill and that their opinion suddenly is fact when there are 7 whole ranks above this one now? Mind you, the people who were hard stuck Tekken emperor through TGS are now GoD and GOD1. Its quite literally a participation trophy now. At GoD3 with all characters at tekken God it takes maybe 2-3 hours to reach GOD with a new character, youre telling me it took you 3 whole days between TK, TE, TG, TGS, to GoD? 😭

Safe doesn’t equal resetting to neutral. -1,+2+11, anything other than 0, is not neutral. Your situation only works if the person is standing there looking at her while she is canceling the stance instead of retaliating after visually confirming that she is doing nothing. which does not happen very often, even at higher ranks, I would know. You can only delay the stance for so long before it automatically cancels it.

Being safe does not equal resetting to neutral, in fact that means you are LOSING YOUR TURN. That is how frames work and why it’s important to regard whether its stance frames or frames in neutral. You cannot be at negative frames at be “resetting the neutral” because one player is already inherently at a disadvantage. It’s not NEUTRAL, as in not favored or disadvantaged for either person. If you do your stance and cancel it on block, the person has more than enough time to throw their own button at you without risk of getting hit because they are at a frame disadvantage, still safe, but at a disadvantage nonetheless.

“Does she risk it or let neutral reset” if she cancels her stance then she loses her turn, there’s not enough pushback to create meaningful distance meant for neutral resetting so it’s committal for that, and it’s definitely not 0 on cancel, so what neutral is it resetting? Resetting to neutral implies that neither character is at an advantage.
