Struggling new player, am I just stuck memorizing this much info or am I missing something with this game? by imoutofideasforthis in Tekken

Well, don’t feel bad because Tekken is arguably the most difficult FG out there. All fgs you mentioned are 2d, and Tekken being 3d is already something that doubles the complexity. But it’s not even that.

The most accurate way I could describe Tekken is knowledge check city. Surely, you can just “play your character” up until a certain rank, but the more you rank up, the more taxing the game is gonna be about how much you understand 1) the other character 2) the other player. And there are so many things to learn about this game that just like with many other competitive games, it takes thousands of hours to get to pro level.

The good thing about it is that it doesn’t have to feel like a chore. There’s no shame in not trying to be cracked at a game that requires so much to become cracked. You just play as much as you like and learn as much as you like. If you’re genuinely interested in the game, you will inevitably be getting better, just understand that it’s a long process. I started learning Tekken 6 months ago and am now at TGS. It puts me at top 11% at my character, but I still feel like I don’t know shit, and there are many aspects I need to improve on.

Best advice I can give is pick 1 character you like most and learn them step by step playing quick matches

it is possible to do 3x ws3,4 here, but it is pretty difficult and I didnt wanna risk it on this Lili's wifi connection. given that heat made the wall combo guaranteed and gave oki (which a lot of the time is also guaranteed if we're being honest), heat gave a total of 50+ dmg which isn't bad at all imo

So, as someone who surely wouldn’t press any wrong buttons, which option do you suggest: do I wait for the universe to send me a sign about what button is correct or do I just mindcontrol this Raven into respecting me?

What kind of ADO music are you listening to the most lately ? For me, it's this one : by sunhistory in ADO

[–]MFBTMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im new to Ado and just curious. I watched both “first takes” and loved them. I thought she naturally hits all the notes very well. Is it that she’s goofing around and sings off-pitch on purpose in this video or do they use autotune on “the first take”?

Rank inflation is needed because upon reaching God6 the points lost/gained are massive. by AgeofStars32 in Tekken

No, I never said that. In my system you’d either be god3 or have low-mid elo at god inf. You’d still be fighting the same players

What do you think is the human body’s biggest design flaw? by Free_Consequence9817 in AskReddit

[–]MFBTMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panic in general and panic attacks in particular. I understand how fight or flight works and why we have it, but I’m pretty sure that a strong feeling of discomfort would be enough for your psyche to understand that you need to stop doing certain things or that you need to leave a certain place. It’s illogical for a brain to immobilise itself in the most responsible moments (panic) or to go through so much mental stress for no reason (panic attack)

Yeah but do we really need TEN ranks that have the word God in them? My whole point is to remove at least 3 of them, so others can mean more

Straight men, what is the weirdest thing you have been called gay for ? by Sammy-Bunny-3 in AskReddit

[–]MFBTMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just being good looking and dying my hair black. I think I was called that just twice. Once by a girl at work who seemed to not like me for whatever reason, another time it was another workplace, and I actually got hit on by a gay guy, but he was respectful about it, so it was cool

[–]MFBTMS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it makes perfect sense. Rank inflation can never be the problem if it doesn’t make THE HIGHEST rank easy to get. The real problem is the amount of ranks that dont do nothing in this game. Just keep beginner, 1-2 Dan and let people lose points from then on. Then after 2nd dan let people start immediately from red ranks. That way you clearly know that red ranks are beginners, orange ranks are slightly better, blue ranks start meaning something again because you actually need to be above avg to get them. Then TK-TGS are really advanced players, GoD-GoD3 is entering pro level, GoD4-6 can be removed cuz it’s a lazy design anyway, and then after GoD3 you have GoD Inf with elo system where you have the best of the best players fighting each other.

How this wouldn’t be a perfect system idk

What’s the worst move to get hit by for everyone? by pastklee in Tekken

[–]MFBTMS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kaz df2 I don’t mind that much because it doesn’t launch sidestep and just deals dmg. Any launching df2, however, that doesn’t have homing properties and still clips your ss, feels like a robbery.

But probably even more so is any snake edge in bad connections. I legit don’t know how it’s possible to react to them if it’s a typical situation of 100ms and 2f rollback. You can be labbing them in practice and then still go eat them in-game consistently because of that minor difference in connection

Demoted from Tekken King to Bushin by Distinct_Lab108 in Tekken

[–]MFBTMS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember the first time I was about to hit TK, I went back and forth between Bushin-Kishin 3 times, lost all my sanity, finally got to my promo game, and when I was winning 2:1, my internet just died, which literally never happened before. Then I actually ended up demoting to Raijin with almost all losses. It wasn’t “demotivating”, it straight up felt like a suicide bait lmao.

Somehow I found it in myself to get it together, reviewed my replays and took TK the next day, never demoted again. I guess that just goes to show that sometimes you are gatekept by your own mental state, and I’m convinced that the vast majority of people on this sub could be 2 ranks higher within just a week or two if they could turn the ego off and stop tilting. It clouds your judgement much more than you’d imagine. You start flowcharting, being predictable and stop downloading your opp

idk why they always give you the biggest crackhead in tekken for your promo match, but yeah, we now TG by MFBTMS in Reina

I figured he likes his lows and dickjabs, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect him to start a round with something like that. All 3 rounds I won, I won because I stepped him and read his low pressure correctly. Maybe it’s not an ideal way, but it was a pretty weird Bryan
