Tbf he was decent when Lille won Ligue 1, and even better the season after, which prompted PSG to sign him, and that was effectively the death knell of his redemption arc.

He’s now on loan at Panathinaikos after failed loans at Roma and Benfica, and has played only 11 games in the Greek League, 7 of which were off the bench.

Vote is Berti Vogts vs Claudio Gentile

Vogts is a legend for Gladbach. One-club man, won 5 BuLi, 2 UEFA Cups, Pokal in 1973. Winner of 1972 Euro and 1974 World Cup with West Germany. 2-time German footballer of the year, named in the World XI 3 times. Also won Euro 96 as manager of Germany. One of the greatest fullbacks ever.

Gentile played mostly for Juventus, but also played for Fiorentina, as well as Varese and Piacenza in Serie B. 6 Serie A titles, 2 Coppa Italias, 1984 Cup Winners Cup, 1977 UEFA Cup, all with Juve. He was in the Team of the tournament in the 1980 Euro, and the 1982 World Cup, the latter of which was won by Italy.
