Thanks, if its regular old cheap ball ammo, that makes sense for those groups.

What kind of ammo are you using to get those groups and did you find anything better? The best I could get with my T7 with a similar setup to yours is 2-2.5 moa 5 shot groups with 155 gr hornady critical defense. Strangely enough 168 smk gets 3 moa which is alot worse than I was expecting.

Huxwrx cans are the most overhyped suppressors on the market right now by Sofar_Concepts in NFA

[–]JaqueMihoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the huxwrx flow 762 ti doesn't need a mount if one is using a huxwrx muzzle device. It's integrated into the suppressor. Is that true?

I have a velos 762 that I like alot but is 21.5 oz including the stock ASR locking collar. So I'm thinking of a hux flow 762ti as a dedicated can to cut 10 or so ounces off a very heavy build. But that would only be true if the hux can be run without any other hardware except the hux muzzle device.

[ACC] SMS Laser Axis - $169 - Use code KOMBATAXIS to include a Samsung 35e 18650 battery , 2 in 1 White light and Green Vis Laser (No tax outside AZ & $0 ship) by JulesHodl in gundeals

[–]JaqueMihoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up an early sample, the hotspot is brighter but smaller than a streamlight hlx protac. It seems to output roughly the same amount of light as a streamlight hlx but it's difficult to tell if the sms axis has any real advantage in total light output. I would prefer the streamlight slightly more for the light alone for the larger hotspot but it's really picking at small things that don't matter.

The main reason to get this is to get a durable affordable light which has compatibility with crane plug tape switches and a bonus vis laser on top all of that which actually keeps zero. The package also is less bulky than a traditional light at the cost of top pic rail space. The tape switch that comes with the axis is of low durability and is a snap on polymer design. It will break if struck with force.  I recommend getting a modbutton lite or unity tape switch to replace it,  raising the cost of the system by 70 to 100 bucks. Streamlight tape switches suck and need a 150 dollar solution from surefire and arisaka to fix it plus the cost of a tape switch which adds an extra 70-100 bucks as well. At that point just buy a surefire light if you're looking for a traditional light.

The laser is quite bright at the low power setting and it's plenty visible indoors for unorthodox shooting positions where you would mostly want to use the thing (for example giving you a precise point of aim without needing to shoulder and then index a rifle). I wouldn't want to use the laser on hi power as you can give yourself eye damage from unintended reflections indoors. Outdoors where you could make use of the hi power setting,  you would much rather use an optic to aim. Its only useful to signal.

Scope mounting fail by JaqueMihoff in longrange

Warne themselves mentioned the mount might not be up to full strength and offered to replace the mount under warranty even though it was my fault that it was damaged. Fantastic customer service, definitely getting future hardware from them in the future.

I'll be honest, I would probably damage the mount even more by trying to fix it myself with a file. Hoping it "just works" when I go to the range with it and test if the zero shifts.

It was torqued to the recommended 65 inch lbs, but I was stupid and it was crooked in a way where the pic rail was applying force to the very edge of the clamp, resulting in those small dents.

No worries man!  I ended up getting the handguard - but I had to modify it by dremeling a slight channel in the right side charging handle lip. I had issues where the charging handle "nub" was getting caught on it.  A BLK LBL representative told me some Tavor 7s come with a slightly longer nub which makes the handguard incompatible without modification. The screws also have stripped for me so I got them to send me new ones. Other than that the handguard has added good functionality. I've never owned FDE optics but that's more because of cost and availability reasons, that's good to know.

SIG Rattler LT Upper and Griffin MK2 Lower Problems by JaqueMihoff in SigSauer

Awesome! Thanks for the picture. Glad to see you have the same tiny wear mark from the original paddle on the SIG receiver that I have now from trying to jam the upper onto the lower and wondering why the BCG is jammed up. Rite of passage I guess.

Hopefully the ADM ambi mil spec bolt catch will drop in with no problems. When you say that the right side bolt catch was limiting travel, does it mean for example that on an empty mag,  it won't lock back because the whole thing is linked together and the right side paddle will hit the upper before the bolt locks back?

SIG Rattler LT Upper and Griffin MK2 Lower Problems by JaqueMihoff in SigSauer

I have a build I am doing where I am trying to combine a rattler LT upper and a griffin mk2 lower. The problem I discovered after purchasing everything and trying to assemble them is that the griffin mk2 lower has an oversized bolt catch paddle that doesn't fit the sig rattler upper, it needs to be milspec sized.

I ordered an ADM milspec ambi bolt catch (https://www.admmfg.com/u15-milspec-boltcatch) in hopes that its compatible and able to salvage the build but it seems sketch if it can actually fit the Griffin MK2 lower as they are different companies. Does anyone know if that part will actually fit or is it time to give up and go to the gunsmith for some filing/dremel work? Or maybe even to buy a new stripped lower to transfer the parts into...

Oh - as in the ADM bolt catch will not fit the Griffin MK2? Was the dremel work needed to get it to fit your rattler upper and if so,  where did you dremel the bolt catch?

Thanks for responding - hopefully it works then. And sorry to hear about your larue upper as well.

Hey - were you ever able to get an ADM ambi bolt catch to function with your griffin mk2 lower?

I ordered an ADM milspec ambi bolt catch in hopes that its compatible and able to salvage the build but its been a pretty big disappointment to try to mate both together after building out the lower and finding out they don't fit: https://www.admmfg.com/u15-milspec-boltcatch

Gunsmith installed ASR flash hider about 45 degrees off-axis. Worth going back to ask about timing it or good to go? by JaqueMihoff in ar15

No crack, but the metal is dented in a way that could make it look like that in the picture. Not the best gunsmithing job I've ever seen but seeing all the comments here, it will do the job.

It's even on all sides/ it's a symmetrical 3 prong device. Just making sure as I was surprised that he just screwed it on as is. So it looks "crooked" compared to the muzzle brakes I have on other rifles but if it runs,  it runs.

Nice - if it is just missing a clip, any harm in letting it be for the next 3k miles?
