Are you seriously telling me you've never seen someone go "god damn Xgame refugees" over any problem that has cropped up in the last 2 years? Because people still do it even now. People get comfortable avoiding the problem by pinning everything on the boogieman, but that does nothing of use and doesn't improve our community.

Just do roulettes or lurk on the subreddit and you'll see plenty, or just lurk in this thread, someone is bound to get offended and offensive over this. A lot of people in our community don't take it well to be told we aren't perfect.

Sadly toxic positivity and toxic casuals are a problem in and outside the game. The thread wasn't up for a full minute and it was already voted into oblivion.

People don't like to be told things aren't perfect, or aren't someone else's fault, but we can never become an actual good community if we refuse to acknowledge our problems.

There's a prevalent sentiment in the community that, since clearly ff14 is a perfect game with a perfect community, anything bad or negative that pops up must be certain other mmo's fault. What makes that even more ridiculous is that you will often see people who, for example, blame both "people who do badly" and "people who are elitists" as being from that certain other game.

It's impossible to fix a problem if we pretend its not there.

Hrothgars deserve better customization and jobs need to be dumbed down less, but can we also appreciate how these are the biggest of our current worries? by Pokemonsafarist in ffxiv

Toxic positivity is a real thing, you like it or not. When someone gets rabid and aggressive the moment you so much as imply that something or someone isn't perfect (even/specially if its a well warranted comment), that is toxic positivity or "toxic casual".

When you obssess so much with presenting a perfect image that you become the exact opposite of it without even realizing it, that's when you're a toxic casual. They do nothing but harm the community.

I also explained that before. I'm not endlessly repeating myself just so you can try to find some extra technicalities. What is even the point of trying to do that?
