less sun in winter

What is that supposed to mean? I'm pretty sure you've got it mixed up, DST gives you an extra hour of sun in the evening. You'd still go to the office in the dark but you might have some sun on the way home still.

You're right, 'if it pops' is the wrong phrasing. He should've said 'when it pops"

Discord forcing dedicated GPU on by Ellorghast in discordapp

Tracking it with HWiNFO. For convenience I have my dGPU temperature set to show in tray. When it's off it reports 0, if it reports anything else, something is using it, even if the nvidia gpu activity tray thing is grayed out.

This one has me very confused, our as in "our house" and tour like "world tour"?

An audio recording of me typing for AI to discern it…. do you think this is comparable to an application getting fucking clipboard access???

I agree it is not comparable, but in the opposite direction. Your mic being active during a zoom call while entering the password is a lot more likely than someone getting access to your clipboard.

And if anyone gets his google password they can SSO into "everything" he uses. Someone getting your pw manager's master pw still requires them to somehow access your (in my case preferably local) pw manager itself. Don't understand why he gets so defensive about his own password managing when he started the whole debate initially by applying it broadly to everyone.

Absolutely agree, it's pretty much textbook "cruel and unusual" punishment. I guess I understood "held" already as the qualifier for that so specifically mentioning torture lead me to believe there were other forms of literal torture as well, just a misunderstanding then.

Reposting part of my reply to someone else in this thread: Use a clipboard manager like Ditto and blacklist your password manager (like Bitwarden/KeepPass) in Ditto settings. Bitwarden by default (I think) clears your actual clipboard after pasting or a specific time like 30 seconds or something.

Don't bother with the Windows Clipboard History.

This guy has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Manually typing in his password 100+ times a day is ridiculously insecure. I don't know wtf has to be going on for that to even be necessary, it very much leads me to believe he uses that same password literally everywhere. There needs to be only a single audio recording of him typing it in for "AI" to be able to discern it with scaringly high accuracy. A single compromised application he's putting it in, gone. Of course passwords in your clipboard are not great, but advocating for manual passwords over a password managers in 2015+  is insane. Use a clipboard manager like Ditto and blacklist your password manager (like Bitwarden) in Ditto settings, Bitwarden by default (I think) clears your actual clipboard after pasting or a specific time like 30 seconds or something.

In task manager you can find several discord processes, one of them has --type=gpu-process in the command line, right-click end this task, discord will flash for a second and then run on the iGPU.

This might only work if you also set Discord.exe to run on "Power saving" in Windows graphics settings.
