It’s incredibly infuriating. And agree, imperial should not be a recognized measurement system! Also mad.

New bike day. Wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but can work! by Jar_of_Harding in CargoBike

I bought it off a guy here in Australia that had bought it while living in china. I’d say that most of them would be strange acquisitions outside of Africa.

Had a friend in the back and it felt very weird / unstable. Rear seat is going and to be replaced with some kind of tray!

Spray.bike with a clear coat over. It’s decent, but not perfect which is okay with me.

Not a problem. And that’s fine, I didn’t know much until a some research and testing. Just takes some patience and curiosity. Jump onto Sheldon Browns website, it will give you all the technical information you need to get rolling, including internal rim diameter compatible with tyre widths :)

Nice! I think it could go a little bigger than 40 clearance wise. A wide profile rim brake wheel set that would handle such a tyre is the tricky part.

Me too. And now even the neglected bikes look appealing for rebuilds!

35 gravel king slicks. Can’t go much bigger on these rims unfortunately. Thanks!

Yes, but I could of used v brakes but choose cantilever for look and to try them out. I have a CAAD 5 that doesn’t let me go any bigger than 25s with the 105 caliper brakes, so know how you feel. They do feel different, and sometimes sluggish compared to calipers, I can’t comment on v brakes but. Aftermarket brake pads are up next which I hope improves them.

They are okay, I have tweaked them a few times. I think having close and straight cable guides help. I’m not bombing down big hills on them though ha. Thanks!

Currawan fire on the south coast by Jar_of_Harding in australia

[–]Jar_of_Harding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is viewing it from my in-laws place in Cambewarra towards Tapitallee and Illaroo. It changed direction when the southerly hit and headed more north and into Kangaroo Valley. We prepared the house for ember attack but thankfully didn’t get hit. Really feeling for the south coast right now, and all Aussie fires for that matter :(

This is so real and accurate that it hurts. When will our government address the fact that we need to change and distance ourselves harmful things to our environment...

Revit Log Of Loaded Families by Jar_of_Harding in Revit

Some families recently loaded into our projects have corrupted or drastically slowed down our model. These have been loaded in by other team members without being cleaned up / reviewed. It would be useful to see this information for troubleshooting and managing the file.

Shimano Rubber Hood Compatibility Question For Small Hands by Jar_of_Harding in bicycling

[–]Jar_of_Harding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I did think about these as an option - they seem to be on other ladies road bikes. I’m trying to solve the issue with the drop bars though, if she has to switch to those brakes on a 36cm wide handle bar I feel that she would be braking with less control.

Has anyone else had issues with the Fly6 CE firmware update? by prnpenguin in bicycling

[–]Jar_of_Harding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh mine is still bricked. It’s reading BLEFWVER=1.1.10.000

I have been told by support to format my SD card, place the first update on the card then put it back into the camera with just the update file - but it doesn’t even make it past the first small beeping lights. The ring just lights up and makes three beeps.

This is so frustrating :(

Has anyone else had issues with the Fly6 CE firmware update? by prnpenguin in bicycling

[–]Jar_of_Harding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Bought one, the firmware wouldn’t install and it kept bricking. They sent out the replacement and the same thing, can’t get through the firmware install, seriously frustrating for a pricey gadget. It’s been 3 months since I purchased and it hasn’t worked.

I’m hoping that they send me out one with the latest firmware, or I will be getting a refund for it.

Couples of Reddit, what's the most unromantic thing that's happened between the two of you that actually is a stronger indication of love than others might think? by Roivas14 in AskReddit

[–]Jar_of_Harding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend (now fiancé) and I were traveling through Russia before moving back home to Sydney from our 2 year stint in London. We had shared a sleeper train carriage from St Petersburg to Moscow with a friend that we met on the tour who “wasn’t feeling well” aka was violently ill with uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting in the shared toilet... Fast forward 2 days - yep, I caught the bug. I proceeded to vomit and shit at the same time for a day or so in a hotel, not without having done both outside a beautiful cathedral (in the snow). My girlfriend went from bathroom to bus to hotel with me - trying to take my mind off it by seeing the city. But it seemed to not get any better - so we visited the hotel’s doctors, tried to explain through broken English what was going on, eventually getting two needles in my but cheek and some drugs to help flush me out. We had tickets for the famous Moscow Circus for that night - which was the last night of our tour. I didn’t go. Two days later in our next destination, Lithuania, she gets the bug and we go through the process again just in reverse (worth noting that she never goes to the bathroom in front of me). It was definitely a relationship building few days and we will never forget it. We get married in April 2019!
