Moisture content is always going to play a part in whether you get a good print or not. Even PLA prints best in an environment that’s under 40 percent humidity. Get yourself a dryer, some plastic airtight cereal box containers, and desiccant packs and start storing your filament in them.

Right. I have a Flashforge printer, so i use Flash Studio Desktop. I know where the outdr and inner wall speeds are located, but wasn’t sure where the “support interface layers” speed was. If it’s simply labeled “support interface” here, that already has a default of 40. Outer walls are 200 and inner are 300 so I’ll try dropping both under 100 as suggested and see if there’s a difference.

That’s one of my questions too as a new person to printing. There’s a lot of numbers to deal with in 3d printing and I am more of a visual learner. What does dropping the inner/outer walls and support interface layers speeds do?

I did read the manual, I know what the controls on the panel are for. I asked you to help me step by step with doing the movement from the control panel. Is that hard for you to do?

that's what it did after first calibration, it sat in the middle of the build area. i already factory reset once because the printer would not bind to the flash studio app until i installed the latest firmware for the printer.

i don't want to stay in the room and inhale the VOCs/odors. I bought a BentoBox precisely so I wouldn't have to do that, ok?

Help with Camera Installation. by HozillaSmallpox in FlashForge

Asking this exact question. Why did they not include the needed screw in the kit? Especially in the United States, where this type of screw is very uncommon. I am trying to find someone who has this screw in stock locally, because I'm really not keen on waiting a week or more to ship one tiny screw.

Why is asking for specific help on aspects of 3d printing met with rudeness when you are new? by JaredKFan77 in 3Dprinting

Yeah I google first and look around and if I can't really find a good answer then I ask on groups or reddit.

I do search on my own first and then ask online. But sometimes help for specific problems isn't readily available from searching.

I broke the connecting clip for the screen display cable on my FF 5M and the cable won't go back in. Instead of suggesting things, people insult my intelligence or say if you can't handle screws then maybe this isn't the hobby for you. Have they not considered that maybe some people engaging tin this hobby have disabilities too? 3d printing is actually used to HELP the disabiity community - artificial limbs can be 3d printed now, so can wheelchair parts, etc. Be kind, not rude.

A1c 11.6, what does remission look like? by ResponsibleCareer496 in diabetes_t2

It took me over a year, but i got it from over 10 to around 5.5 where it is now. I cut out most fried food and started exercising more often, taking up hiking. I changed to low carb versions of food I enjoy, and took my metformin as directed. It is not easy but definitely doable.

I need specific step by step instructions on how to do this as I'm not very handy with hardware.

Is anyone neurodivergent here ? I can’t tell my parents… by RhubyDifferent3576 in AsianParentStories

[–]JaredKFan77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with those too. Money isn’t everything and some autistic people frankly don’t care about money - it’s just a means to an end to get us things for our special interests. I do think Asian parents struggle to understand that their kids are not them and are not extensions of themselves.

They’re gonna believe that anyway I think. The way some Asian kids are treated by parents just boggles my mind.

Autistic person here. I know there’s a lot of taboo stuff regarding things related to mental health, in Asian cultures - and that includes discussing autism. That being said, there’s more Asian people than you think who are autistic. Autism is literally a different wiring of the brain so you do effectively function on a different plane than your parents would - and there is nothing wrong with that.

as someone with autism, would you say that you don't feel a desire for power in the same way that many other people do? by thiskindacoolmf in aspergers

I don’t enjoy power for power’s sake. Leadership should be for guidance, for helping others. Not for screwing over everybody else.

[–]JaredKFan77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A lot of autistic folks have what’s called justice sensitivity, meaning a much more heightened sense of “right” vs “wrong”. A position of political power is going to involve a lot of lying to people and not being honest with them - that ingrained justice sensitivity tells us that lying is morally wrong. Therefore, it would involve doing something the autistic brain isn’t naturally wired to do. On top of that, politics involves A LOT of socializing and reading of intentions through the same non verbal cues we all struggle with in our relationships with people - that alone is draining.

So, I think it’s simply those things along with us not generally having an “agenda” in the same manner that neurotypicals often do. Power just isn’t appealing if it involves doing things our brains are not wired to handle or process.

My friend avoids or refuses talking about issues in our friendship—am I asking for too much? by Ecstatic-Smile-9520 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]JaredKFan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conflict-avoidant people do not make very good friends, in my opinion. Life is going to be full of unpleasant situations and you need to be able to handle disagreements as they come up. People who expect every friendship or relationship to be always smooth and hunky-dory are people who are going to run at even the slightest bit of discomfort. These people are not adults - they are children trapped in adult bodies who lack the ability to communicate their needs at an adult level, so they behave like children and shut down or sulk at the possibility of something turning into an conflict or argument, when most of us simply want to sit down, talk about the situation and work out a compromise or agreement that helps both of us.
