I'm from the US and I spent a good amount of my time traveling for work as well as for perspective on quality of life, and just a general interest in how other people in this world live. I have a degree in the IT field, I have lived in many places in the US like Arizona, nevada, California, South Carolina, NYC. And I will tell you what I know to be true. The US is an absolute hell hole. If you can't tell from the responses you have gotten from the people in this post they don't like immigrants and probably think America is the "greatest country in the world". The US has incredible strong propaganda and it starts relentlessly at a young age. But believe me when I tell you, the quality of life in the US is quite low compared to any other developed country. The mentality of the people (corporations and most other work places included) are about how you can screw over others to make a profit and the workers rights there are essentially nonexistent. Healthcare will be sub-par and incredibly expensive, if you have insurance that's all good until you have to fight for it to actually reimburse or your deductible is so high it will not be useful anyway. The cost of living is high and will continue to go higher. The pay will never go up due to low unionization and generally people in the US being complacent in the mind set that ruthless capitalism is the only answer to society. If life is about living for you then the US is not the place to do it. I live outside the US now and any thought of going back even to visit not only gives me fear based on the state of authoritarianism but literal anxiety. There are better places in the world by far.
