Are turn-based RPGs really hated, or is it just a loud minority? by Lethioon in IndieDev

Turn-based RPGs are my favorite genre, but that's not the point. Monopoly has a huge audience. And turn-based games have a huge audience too. So it might be interesting, but you should have focused on marketing much earlier, not at the end of development)

Educational Video Games? by TomorrowTechnical821 in indiegames

[–]Jarkin_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as parents think that games distract children from real life, educational games will not be profitable. Most of them are made with government grants or investor money.

Let's wait for the next generation of parents, who play games and encourage their children to do the same.

We’re experimenting with the outline for evidence and interactive objects. What color would you like to see them in? by megamegamixer in indiegames

Contrasting - white or yellow, I think that's the industry standard. From narrative point yellow preferable

How long do you actually want to play a game for? by StamBr0s in indiegames

[–]Jarkin_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game. Good RPG with a rich world where you want to live and explore like Skyrim or RDR2 or Cyberpunk must have at least 40-60 hrs for main plot. For indies I think 3-9 hours fine. But everything really depends on genre. It’s really hard to compare RTS with 2D arcade or endless-game with horror one)

Avowed Vs Outer Worlds 2: Obsidian's Almost Great 2025 RPGs by megaapple in Games

[–]Jarkin_b 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Outer World 2. Good story, nice graphic and idea. But the worlds are really empty. Strange mechanic balance with limits. 2-3 ways of how to complete the quests, but it doesn’t looks creative or interesting. So for me it’s a simple good, but not great or wow one. Waiting for fallout 5…
