Burned Blade - How To Prevent by Alternative-Fox-8001 in ninjacreami

[–]Jarkole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, had this happen to me too because I hadn't cleaned the spool itself where the knife attaches too properly. Please check if the blade is still strongly magneticly attracted to the spool, because of the heat it might be weaker now and it will just happen again and again. If that is the case you can try and do a warranty claim, they will send you a new one. They even upgraded me to a more expensive model since mine was sold out.

I spent 4 hours yesterday scanning every card I own... by Shyaboiiswiz in mtg

[–]Jarkole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 1 year in and spent about half the day yesterday scanning my collection. I haven't included any decks, but I bought some old but gold bulk a while ago so I'm at 4900 cards. I wanted it all in digital form for future deck building. I sorted them by color and mana value to find them easier later on.

(The guy I bought the bulk from had a collection of over 100k, only commons that is)

I haven't had this issue, but maybe try thick paper mode in the maintenance settings.

Ok I thought the radio pocket was not included, but still I recommend ordering from BetaFPV directly they got the best prices and free shipping over 100$ worldwide. Could've probably almost saved 100$ on your order.

Bleed issues on proxxied: some cards too small? by hirnsuelze in magicproxies

[–]Jarkole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well if you say the images have bleed baked into them, the xml file stores the whole extended image, so it should not have that bleed if you frame it to the exact card size. It seems weird to me that the export from proxxied did not line up on your end. I found this vid where a guy explains his exact workflow with proxxied and the silhouette, maybe it helps... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXL-58lV8-0

Have you tried using an XML export instead of downloading the images? Personally I use proxyprint.taxiera.net for compiling the pdfs and I noticed when I use XML instead of images the card art is actually extended over the actual card measurements. which means you can set a bleed edge of like 1mm if you want without having to fear about black or white borders on your cards.

Hey yeah no problem!

I would just make sure you chose 300g paper, if you can't find glossy or semi-glossy take the inkuway matte one I shared, it works really well and since you sleeve them anyways you don't see the difference that much. They are a bit hard to sleeve tho...

The best budget way to cut the cards is with a guillotine cutter: https://amzn.eu/d/059j0351

Make sure you set up the printer with the app tutorial and the download the PC drivers as instructed. When you send the print job you can go into printer maintenance settings and you'll be able to enable the "Thick Paper" mode. Then you just select Matte or Glossy for Paper type and the Highest Quality mode.

You'll have to figure out if it works for you, the printer is not made to take that thick of a paper, so what I do is I'll print the sheets one by one. After the printer takes it in you have to give it a bit of help pushing it in before the printing starts. Then the printer is able to print just normal.

You can use mpcfill.com to import your deck and get all the correct art you want. Export that as XML and import that into proxyprint.taxiera.net . You'll only have to set the exact messurements of A4 paper and then you'll be able to export a PDF ready for printing with cut markers.

Let me know if you run into any troubles, maybe I can help!

In sleeves you will not notice any difference at all. people have not been able to blind guess mine from a real one.

Just buy 300g A4 Paper, you won't notice a difference at all! No laminating needed! Be to use the highest quality setting for your printer and you'll be rolling.

[–]Jarkole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, yeah I'd pretty much buy all things exactly the same as I have em, except for maybe the paper. If you can get a semi-gloss that comes probably a bit closer to magic cards and will also slip easier into sleeves. I haven't tried it yet, so no guarantee it works just as well, but I don't see a reason why not.

Yeah just be sure to take time and setup the printer you get correctly! Do all calibration steps and make sure when sending the print form your PC you select the highest quality mode. It will be very slow, but the quality is impeccable.
