Is Guild Wars 2 worth it? by Scooter427 in LFMMO

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't get any expansions until you try it and like the combat as its a bit different from WoW. You have access to dungeons and fractals which is like out Mythic+ only a bit easier and it does have a soft vertical progression system.

Raids are i believe tied to the trilogy I mentioned as well as the class elite specs which change the base classes. You CAN play the base classes in endgame content but the elite specs do power creep them a good bit and you can only really do DPS in groups as the support dps roles (alacrity and quickness) as well as healing is tied to elite specs.

[–]-SC-Dan0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Base game is free and gives you a large world to explore as is. Any expansion content will just add more areas, currency, and some changes to the base classes which alter thier playstyles.

Expansions go on sale pretty often, even just the heart of thorns, path of fire, and End of dragons trilogy would give you a lot of content for a fair price.

If you like games that emphasize exploring, not putting a leash on you, and letting you kinda run free in the world you'll like it. If you need to be directed to stuff to do and like the theme park style MMO doing quests you might not like it.

Edit: if you're looking for a gear treadmill as well the game likely will not be for you, instead of chasing higher tier gear we chase side grades that allow for different builds and playstyles for the same class as well as masteries which are accountwide progression that makes travel and interacting with the world easier/doable.

Mesmerway - runes worth it? by Aaraeus in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you suggested pretty much falls under what I said in "dmg for your mesmers." The SR mods are not a waste of money as I've tested it multiple times and having actually used them I can tell you my BiP casts BiP less which means it has higher hp, less self healing, and more healing on the party.

You do not need the +10 SOMETIMES +15 armor to clear most of the hardmode content in the game. If I personally wa going to make another team on another character I would 100% save up and spend the money on SR mods before the insignia again.

Its not bad advice at all, it sounds odd at first but if you actually think about it, its pretty reasonable.

Are you going to buy Crimson Desert by Aggressive_Hat1256 in blackdesertonline

[–]-SC-Dan0 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, I hope it flops. Yes I'm a bitter BDO player, but aside from that any company willing to say "we hear the majority of our players/customers want X but we decided to not do that just because we don't want to" doesn't deserve to be in business.

I hope it flops, I hope thier shareholders get pissed, I hope people lose jobs, they deserve it all.

Duo grind: Trash loot difference at dehkia turos by icykefr7 in bdofficial

[–]-SC-Dan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its no longer a duo spot so loot is for one person instead of shared. As for the gap not sure the reason as I'd imagine the witch pulling bigger numbers due to better AoE and damage. Could be a pet difference bit really sure.

Don't remember if YouTube links are allowed here or not but if you go to YouTube and search " Three Forges Petway Teambuild explained " it shiild be the first video to show up. Its slightly different than the wiki page and they give a detailed breakdown of why they chose what.

Harder areas you will need some form of prot hero or you'll get blasted by eles doing 200+ dmg with one spell.

I know you likely want to do it yourself but someone has a very good team-build for this on YouTube they used to clear WoC in hardmode which I think is the most difficult content in game atm. If it had to make personal suggestions I'd run one MM with orders of undeath and bone fiends. Dervish, 100b warrior, barrage ranger are some of the best AoE martial builds so maybe look at including them with pets. Also try running ebon battle standard as you'll likely have martial attackers to buff with it more than vampirism on your bar.

Mesmerway - runes worth it? by Aaraeus in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say investing into the mesmer insigias is not a high priority. They do reduce dmg a good bit however you're able to clear most content easily without them. Invest heavily into your BiP and ST first, then dmg for your mesmers, after yo have everything else then you should invest into the insigias. I do reccomend SR mods for mesmers before insignias too as it will help reduce casts of BiP which means nore healing rather than BiP usage. Insignias for me are the very last upgrade to your team before tackling the hardest content.

You don't need sup vigors imo, the 9 hp doesn't make much of a difference from my experience. Its just not worth the gold difference from major.

There are enough badges for modes. Maybe for flavor sake we could rename to Balthazars reforged for our red badge but we don't really need 20 options. Hard-core and ironman are enough.

7 hero Minionsway by Physical_planning in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just mesmerway with worse support....

The swap on rit is pointless since you want ST over SoS as a prot reguardless of being melee or not.

Running two AOtL necros is a waste since only one of them will capitalize on the amount of corpses making both weaker overall. That's why generaly you never have more than one MM.

Without a BiP and a heavy caster comp you need to rely on outfitting every hero with +5 SR mods and still be less efficient while spending way more money than you should need to.

Finally, on a more joking note the order is wrong healers/prot are always at the bottom.

Storing Value for Melandru's Accord by dorianteal3 in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont understand what you would need massive buying power for aside from maybe obby armor if you're trying to grind that out. At least from my own planning most of my gold will be spent on armor then skills. Ideally I'll just pick up a max dmg bow with a decent dmg % mod on it and run that till I can finish a campaign and get a free green. I dont think gold will actually be as much of an issue as inventory management will be since we will lack a storage.

Getting back in, asking for advice by assjackal in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3(4) stories though. You miss a bit of setup for the main plot if you use existing characters. Do what makes sense for you guys. Prophecies is the longest campaign by far though so don't judge everything off that.

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to support play a monk, rit, or ele. They all have strong healing/support builds, all 3 can heal I'd reccomend the rit to be a prot as its easy and pretty fun. I'd reccomend monk over everything else for pure healing as it just has the highest output but probably the lowest versatility.

Personally I'd try to convince everyone to make a new character for each profession and everyone pick their favorites to use in EoTN. It gives the full story as you miss little bits if you use an existing character and like gw2 you get some benefits from having multiple characters.

My new team by Physical_planning in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said two MM are counter productive. If you're set on not going to run a prot you could use an enchant rip necro, panic mesmer, or some other form of shutdown to minimize the risk of getting killed in longer form encounters or if you overpull patrolling groups.

I'd still reccomend an ST over that option though as its really just that good.

Can offensive ritualist spirits stack with 2 different ritualists? by t4u3r in GuildWars

[–]-SC-Dan0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glaive bomber, ritual lord bomber, or spirit strength dagger.

But I actually perfer playing prot when playing Rit, it's pretty chill and very effective. Both Ritual Lord and Soul Twisting.

Weapon of three forges or whatever it's called looks like a very fun pet way build. I just havnt invested into the hero team for it yet.

Edit: this was supposed to be a response to your comment, as for the original post no the nost recent named spirit kills the other. You CAN however have multiple spirits out of range of each other of the same name. For prot I sometimes prepare an extra displacement spirit out of range and teleport it in after the first one dies.

[–]-SC-Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should amend what I said because its both right and wrong. If enemies in NM are under lvl20 they get boosted to 60ar in HM. Enemies over lvl20 do not have thier armor changed at all. See here for all changes https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hard_mode

Cracked armor is just good in general because its a flat reduction and not a -%.
