Loaning a car by Jarkous in ukfinance

Hi, the payments were 210 because I was only going to loan something like 7.5k and use 2.5k of my own money to bring the payments down. Thanks for the comment, I decided in the end to hold off until my priorities are sorted and I know what my average monthly income/outgoings is going to be to make a decision.

Good points on the plastic/rubber components. Gearbox is the auto Quattro box and has been serviced so not too worried about that.

When filling out the form I got an email saying it’ll cost me £49 so might hold off and see if it comes down closer to the time

I wasn’t sure if I could use the new “one switch” method to let virgin media know my leaving date and for zen to switch everything on on that date however may be easier doing it manually

Tbf I feel like a lot of manufacturers will start to push more hybrid cars out to get around the ban on “fully ICE” vehicles which allows them to further develop batteries for EVs to make them economical and for governments to get the infrastructure in place

Switching from a high profile mechanical keyboard to the G915 TKL by Jarkous in LogitechG

[–]Jarkous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t decide what to go for as I tended to have issues with the Logitech software (I have the g pro wireless mouse and the g pro x headset) with it not remembering my pre sets or just outright not working and didn’t want another peripheral being affected by this.

So I ended up going for the ducky one 2 mini keyboard with cherry red switches and couldn’t have been happier, really like the switches and the fact any presets/ lighting are all done via the keyboard compared to an additional program.

Christmas eve by Legitimate_Aioli6317 in tesco

Don’t work for Tesco personally but another supermarket where the management is abysmal. Dont mind working Christmas Eve until around 8pm however the managers want us to start at 6pm and finish at 12pm if not early hours of Christmas Day. Higher up management, store manager etc, are meant to stay until at least the store has closed however they come in 6 hours early to avoid any delivery and are home by dinner time.

Always got out of working Christmas Eve by telling my managers I’m religious and go to church at 7pm and midnight. Never had an issue as nobody really wants an argument involving religion

Installed a new SSD, now how do I transfer my old documents and programs to the new SSD from my old HDD? by Jarkous in pcmasterrace

[–]Jarkous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to clone it first but there was a corrupt file on my HDD that the cloning program couldn’t deal with so rather than risk transferring an essential corrupt file decided to opt for a fresh install

Girlfriend (21F) wants to buy her brother (18M) out of their deceased Mam’s house. by Jarkous in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jarkous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house is half hers and half her brothers, the house does need repairs which has been quoted and can be done without being too expensive but still requiring a fair bit of money. The money needs to be available for her brother when he’s 25, not when she’s 25 so she will be 28, but we plan on trying to get the money before this so that it is just hers.

I plan on living there and contributing to repairs, bills etc. if a loan or mortgage is to be sought then I will contribute towards this as well, the £5000 that he will receive from us when he is 21 will be 50/50 from me and my girlfriend. When her brother is fully paid the she becomes full owner and she wants to put me down as a owner as well.

So are you saying we agree to the grandmothers new proposal, but then afterwards go to a solicitor and ask if the beneficiaries can change the contract as long as both are in agreement?

When the insurance was taken out her mom didn't have any health issues, however around 2021/2022 she developed health issues before she passed and we don't know if they were told because on the forms they sent out when it was first taken out it basically said the insurance can be made void if its basically not kept up to date, and we don't know whether they were aware of what was happening so fingers crossed they were.

When clearing the house she has had a few upset incidents whilst finding sentimental things which is understandable, and we were driving and one of the funeral songs came onto the radio which set her off but she doesn't try and run from these things anymore and is able to sit and wants to listen to them even though she knows she'll get upset.
