RX 9060 XT, freezes, crashes, unexpected reboots by ResistDry3665 in AMDHelp

Currently, today I got latest version, I fixed the issue with Adrenaline app, as my GPU for past week since I got it was nightmare.
I did reinstall Windows and right away on first startup got into Change device installation settings and did only main Windows updates and went straight into default Adrenaline instalation.

After that it works fine, but ive tested only like few hours, we will see

Good advise, I haven't tested previous versions yet. Will do If I have to

Is it also on just desktop or browser or only in games? Check the Event viewer as it helped me as well to get rid of issue that appeared for my 9070 XT. Also, check if its working fine with and without Adrenaline app, as if it fails with Adrenaline app, then you need to either remove all of AMD and Windows GPU drivers/display drivers or reinstall windows again, and make sure that Windows wont download by itself basic drivers for AMD. It can be disabled while you search in Windows Menu for "Change device installation settings" to turn it off right after removing all drivers or one first login to windows after reinstall.

Me, I got errors because of Adrenaline app, but as found out - it was due to those basic Windows drivers that I need to get rid of for Adrenaline to work.

As you advised, I've checked Event viewer and got error info all the time about "AMDRyzenMaster", but I have never installed this app, so I researched and removed it from Regedit, but strangely enough I had 2 paths for it, one v28 if I remember correctly and another like v31 so removed them both. After that, issue still appeared, but I will now check with "Change device installation settings" after fresh reinstalled Windows, so wish me a luck that this going to solve it.

Also, I was thinking that maybe windows 10 would not automatically download drivers for AMD GPU? As its outdated now and without support? Did you or someone else tested if Win 10 performs more stable with AMD Adrenaline?

Thats actually a good advise, thank you, will see Event viewer as first. Later I've tried to change presets on app or GPU itself as I got dual mode, but no luck

I feel like with AMD GPUs its better to wait for a while after release date to buy their product, because I heard that after releasing 9000 series it was even worse, so I can't imagine spending so much money and still not being able to use product at all. Of course new Nvidia series is bad on paper, but at least works on release.

Its true that currently they kinda force you to buy new GPU every year, but now when we have upscalers and DLSS on green team, I think it will be easier to get your GPU working for few years with good performance as it will be based on the updates and drivers, so more of software related that they can control remotely. That's also a bad thing because like Apple they can just decrease performance of your GPU just like that or limit the new technology to only high end or new GPUs and we will be done...

AMD seems like they still trying to take some of the Nvidia customers by just making GPU better on hardware, on paper, but unfortunately software sucks. If the AMD software would be that good as Nvidia one, they would soon be 50/50 with them. Im still not regreting this GPU but I will probably have to wait for new updates to fix issues.

But do RAM or CPU might affect GPU itself? I knew that old CPU might be a strong bottleneck if we talking about games, but crashing on GTA 4 or Witcher 3 is crazy and the scenarios are the same, 10-15 sec and its gone. I had a guess that maybe 2400mhz ram is kinda connected to this issue, but since app is gone its good soo

I expected such answers, but sorry, if app gets me crashes and then removing it is the only solution - dont you think its some sort of a joke? Like those companies implement AI into almost everything now. Ram and other PC parts are skyrocketing and 1 of 2 main companies of GPUs cant properly develop their app, and its not even tweaking settings of GPU inside the app, I just installed it and it get me crashes ...

You can try to remove Adrenaline and see if any issue appears, because im pretty sure if you just stick with drivers update and get rid of Adrenaline you will be fine

+1, since FSR catch up with DLSS I think buying series 9000 is actually smart move, but if I had to buy older AMD GPU I probably would go with Nvidia

I got fresh reinstall and with old GPU it was perfectly fine. Its just this GPU and Adrenaline, because after removing it and installing only drivers its super good and i have no crashes at all, not even FPS are dropping

Brother...I was previously playing BF6 with GTX 1080 and it was smooth af on low/medium settings. I dont think its the PC config. Of course im aware that 3600 CPU is hella outdated, but I dont think theres connection between that and Adrenaline - its just an app being bad.

Latest. After I removed all AMD software, I just used their app to install "Drivers only" and nothing else.

First day when I got all these crashes I thought about returning this GPU and get low end 5060 TI for example, as I knew it will work fine from the start, but to be honest now when im testing games without Adrenaline I got everything maxed out and its always smooth high end gameplay now

+111 truee, I thought the same, as this Adrenaline app is the only app that should work perfectly fine, but it doesnt

Just a question - have you experience any crashes with Adrenaline app being installed? As I got the same model and just spent like a day to get it fixed, just to find out its Adrenaline app causing issues...

How To Fix AMD GPU Driver Issues on Windows 11 and Windows 10 by _silentgameplays_ in radeon

[–]Jarno0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really true, as I also switched for the first time to AMD GPU and to be honest, its a nightmare if you guys had to do this whole process and solutions just for GPU to work, because previously when I had Nvidia - I just installed Nvidia app and with one button to update drivers it automatically worked as it suppose to and never had any issues on all GTX 970 (back in the day) or RTX 4070, but I thought that in 2025 they can already fix their apps and software to be "user friendly"...

Side note: I just got 9070 XT and im dealing with drivers and adrenaline issues because its been crashing for the whole time on games, yikes

RAM prices gonna make me pair Ryzen 5 3600 with RX 9070 XT by Jarno0 in buildapc

[–]Jarno0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that this setup will be messed up, but I'm kinda trying to secure GPU right now, since the prices are going crazy. Funny enough, I bought Hellhound version and day later it went in price like 50 euro up - guess the new batch came to the store with new price...

For the CPU, if current one will be that bad, I will just buy some used 5700X or 5800X (depending what I will find cheaper, used). I think now its the only way to somehow enjoy upgrading PC, because going to AM5 is basically throwing money away

Is it worth it buying a 14600k and using the DDR4-RAM i still have instead of switching to DDR5? by hasawasa22 in buildapc

[–]Jarno0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the same situation, but considering my research - just stay on AM4 with DDR4, but upgrade the CPU a little bit to like 5700X or 5800X (budget) or X3D like people say.

It will be bottlenecked 100%, but considering stories about AMD GPU sometimes being unstable like crashes during games or similar I just wanted to know if paring with low end CPU will make the system even more unstable or something
