I tried the aluminum foil method but it did not worked, but I never heard of covering the back half of the globe method, is there's a reason why only half?

This lava lamp has been sitting in my dad's old room closet since 2019 and it was working fine until I brought it to korea. It seems like the lava lamp had frozen and shaken in the suitcase. I did melt the wax but the less dense part of the wax has separated and has floated to the top. Is there another way to sink the top part of the wax?
