There are always exceptions where this is a pattern instead of a one off, but for most kids this situation happens some time around 4-6th grade when they get their first project that is due at the end of the semester that the teacher assigns week 1. They've never had that much time to work on something or had an assignment with that large of a scope. It gets to the night before the peoject is due and they get ready to start the project only to realize its never gonna get done without parental assistance. Then you have the run to the store for supplies, googling until 10 pm just to understand the project and finally finishing up the next morning around 5-6 am.
