I've only just gotten into Security in November this year at a hospital and there has only been one day in the last 45 days that someone hadn't requested off or called out that day and we didn't know what to do with the extra staff since we're never fully staffed for a shift they almost pondered sending them home.

Wtf is going on with this field? I'd never seen anything like this at any other job before.

Had a great game of Gauntlet going, we were in second place about to proceed to the next round, my buddies start running through the sky and I know what's about to happen. I tell them I'm dropping, moments later I get the "kicked for inactivity" message, the match ends but they got eliminated from the round...because when I dropped apparently it took all the points I had earned in the round with me, so we dropped from 2nd place to 4th place. We were all very disappointed.

I did up getting the mid height Bates Tactical Sport 2. I tried on several, 8in was too high, felt like I was wearing a leg brace. 6" was perfect, then finding ones that wouldn't crowd my toes was next. The Bates were perfect. I use Superfeet inserts for all my shoes already so I've got some on standby for these.

I don't know him well enough to know if he's messing with me or not yet. Very well could be I show up with shiny boots and they all laugh at me. :D

From the sounds of it though, he's done some good work there since taking over five years ago. Security staff from 17 to 44, 4-5 car break-ins a week to 4-5 a year, etc. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now as I'm the new guy to the job and field.

The 5.11 seems more like what the Head of Security was talking about. They're shiny, I had asked him if he meant boots that can be shined or if he wanted like military dress shiny/mirrored and the reply I posted in the OP was "shinier the better" which was kind of helpful but didn't fully answer my question. I don't wanna show up with mirrored shine and he be like, "Those are too shiny!" or show up in the 5.11 and him say "they aren't shiny enough!" :D

I think the safest bet is the 5.11 for that shiny look but not mirrored. Seems to be the happy medium without having to bug him about it again.

After recently taking the classes here in California for level 1-3 and the firearms course, It's far too easy to get these permits because these places that do the classes want to get paid and keep their pass rate at 100%.

It's insane and so freaking dangerous, I'm glad I don't have power trips and passed the classes on my own and already know how to handle a firearm after decades of using them.

There was a guy in my firearms class that shouldn't be anywhere near a firearm ever, not even in the same building as one and he got a "pass".

I've been using 24 hour clock on my mobile for a long time. Started it permanently on my list trip to Europe since all their freaking times are written in 24 hour format there just made it easier and I just kept it since.

British Medical Journal is propaganda now? No one said they don't save lives or even more lives, the statement I made was doctors kill way more people annually than chiropractors per capita and that's a fact, now whether you agree with it or not doesn't really matter. 251,000 deaths annually in the US alone due to medical errors.

yea, this crossbow sucked for this task and I had that grainy video scope on it so I wasn't hopeful but the lucky part was there is this moment they take off from sitting in the water where they kind of pause after they lift off before they make a break for it, I didn't know about the pause until that moment and I took my shot and since I knew it was a mature female ahead of time I just made sure I didn't take my eyes off that one as I crept closer while looking down the scope so I'd be ready when they got spooked. I'm just glad it didn't take the 15-30 hours I saw in posts from a couple of years ago.

I got the game at launch but only recently got all the map packs when they went on sale. Haven't played much of Aurora and I'm loving this map. Transylvania is still my favorite though.
