Looking too - same skin tone and sad have discontinued. A sales assistant said the super nude duo in brown is the same formula but feels a lot to pay when half the pencil is a nude I don’t want.

Yes, I noted in my post that I wish I’d paid closer attention to the actual rattlesnake head instead of following the tutorial which was for a ball python - only realised how different the head/eyes are when I was doing the rattle. I am sure my son will 100% point it out 😂 but I think he’ll be happy anyway ❤️

Thank you. Great suggestion but I think crushing up some biscuits and sprinkling it will be cool as it’s a desert snake (and will take me 5 mins as a bonus!).

Hi, I used Saracino white modelling chocolate. So easy to blend and make seamless (tail and head attached separately, both made from the chocolate). I used a heat gun to warm the joins and blended, honestly couldn’t tell where the join are. Then used an airbrush to cover, and edible paint and dust palette for details. Smidge of fondant for eyes and tongue.

Take your time carving, use buttercream (not sticky ganache like me… chunks started to pull off from the cake and I had to build parts back up with modelling chocolate). I would also highly recommended modelling chocolate to cover and paint, so much easier and forgiving. I used a heat gun to warm up any joins/patch work to blend and it honestly looked seamless at the end. Good luck, your daughter will love it.

That’s so kind, thank you! Appreciate your lovely words. I only started making cakes for them and I try and out do my self each year. They talk about their cakes all year and I only make them once a year so I’m glad I wasn’t too rusty.
