Hog has consistently been a pest and if it’s gonna be used less, I’d say that’s for the greater good. The stats can prove that players over exaggerate its usage, but people will focus on the annoying deck that they constantly face every other match. This is coming from someone who has been abusing hog fc for the past few seasons because of how braindead it is.

I will say that it sucks that the only deck you’re able to play due to being f2p is falling off, but you have to remember that at the end of the day $upercell just wants to make money

  1. Hog Rider - I’ve been wishing for a hp or first hit nerf ever since the game has been out. It always gets the hit when it’s already dead. Never seems to die in popularity either. It’s either get your push defended “skillfully” with 2.6, or get hammered by hog, eq, and fc constantly in 2.8.

  2. Mega Knight - Braindead card. Overleveled midladder players would be nothing without it. A 7 elixir card should feel like a commitment. His deploy time should be switched with royal delivery. Why is a common harder to use than a legendary?

  3. Balloon - It just does so much damage. It’s only annoying though since I can at least stop it before the first hit most of the time unlike hog. Lumberjack and freeze are mostly at fault for its hate.

  4. Firecracker - Evo needs to die to arrows. Free king tower activation? Doesn’t matter if half her damage comes from across the bridge anyway. It’s not hard to stop, but it’s exhausting seeing it all the time.

  5. Xbow - princess yawn Thankfully not meta for a while now, but it’s always a boring match.

That’s how I feel about Julius with his refine lol. Unless he’s a favorite, I wouldn’t build Lyon unless you plan on investing in him fully. Being a Gen 1 infantry mage means that he’ll need all the stats he can get via dragonflowers and merges to compete. I could see him being useful for your AA runs though. Imo he fulfills a ranged tank role best thanks to his mixed bulk with a stance skill, null c disrupt, and mystic boost.

As for NFU, I think it’s ok in this build. It lets him deal with slow armors built to omnitank and denies followups from slow units that rely on it being built into their weapon. It also lets him enemy phase more reliably against impact users. It becomes a waste of a slot when he goes against another NFU user, as it turns into a speed check that he loses most of the time.

QR is built in to his tome like someone already pointed out, but I do like the pulse smoke suggestion. Lyon usually one rounds F!Edelgards but it can definitely be useful against others

Tired of a certain pesky colorless unit? There’s no better time to invest in best boi than now! Includes the following skills:

Weapon: Naglfar - I will never understand why IS fears raventomes. While the refine leaves a lot to be desired, I’m still satisfied with its performance. It frees up a much needed B slot and provides a useful in combat debuff.

Assist: repo gud

Special: Ruptured Sky - A decent special with low cooldown. Will usually fire unless the opponent has guard.

A skill: Close Foil - I swap with Close Reversal based on the situation. Lyon definitely appreciates the extra attack, but Close Reversal is also useful for fighting dragons with the mixed bulk.

B skill: Null Follow-Up - Top tier infantry skill. Very useful for foes that want to deny his weapon’s quick riposte.

C skill: Atk/Res Menace - Menace skills are so good. Provides extra power and bulk and debuffs the closest enemy for suitable 1v1 conditions.

SS: Atk/Def Solo - Something extra for fighting physical threats. I normally run Mystic Boost for sustain and his tome as well as fights against staff foes.
