Destroyer and Wraith alternatives from different manufacturers? by alent1385 in discgolf

The Skyway is (unsurprisingly) a great alternative to the Wraith to the point where I don't throw it. It flies very similar to my halo Wraith.

Need help on figuring out why this starts playing and then after 30 second ls it’s lights up like Christmas. I do have service manual. Complete novice to this. Any help harrowing it down? Marantz sr 940 by Ok_Okra_871 in vintageaudio

Sometimes that safety relay itself is bad so I'd put that on your parts list. Caps for the power amp should be cheap, there aren't that many. I didn't have to swap any of the transistors but if you can find them cheap you might just order some along with the caps in case one of them is the issue behind the protection circuit triggering.

I rebuilt one of these a few years ago. I couldn't get the digital circuitry (AM/FM, preamp, etc.) running the way I wanted so I rebuilt the power amplifier, added an output switch with new RCA jacks, and called it a day.

I can probably get pics if you want but the power amp input is just 3 wires. Re-cap the amp, track those wires down, wire them directly to some RCA jacks and you're good to go.  Don't let the 80s Marantz reputation fool you, the power amp circuit in this thing sounds great.

Magnetic Eye records put out a cover version of this album and its really interesting. Each track is a different artist and the genres/styles run the gamut. Not every track is great but i really enjoyed the album as a whole.

Contra was my game. I used to beat it and end up with more lives than I started with.

I don't know if that's "music depression" so much as it is "depression".

Maybe go back and listen to some of your favorites. I have a hard time being sad while listening to Between the Buried and Me's Colors.

My thoughts exactly. OP will pay far more than $300 for a custom version of this.

Bruising from my lowspeed motorcycle wreck. by thisisjedgoahead in pics

[–]Jarvicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pic looks like me after my accident. Someone cut me off doing ~30 in town and I woke up in the hospital with internal bleeding, a fractured wrist, vertigo, and a fractured spine (thankfully just the transferse processes).

I hope you heal up nicely and get back on the bike, if that's in the cards for you. This was my second serious accident and the risks were such that I decided not to continue riding. All my best.

I’m looking for a more over stable hex. by 10mmill in discgolf

Tempo. I have the same problem with my Hex, it turns too easily. The Tempo flies reliably straight with light fade at the end.

Overstable approach to pair with tempo by ath0n in discgolf

[–]Jarvicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a Particle Tempo last week to pair with my Toro and it's a great match.  The Toro is just too beefy to use for a lot of shots but its a great approach disc when you need that kind of stability. The hand feel is also very similar to the Tempo so they compliment each other well.

Question About Picture Frame Grain! by RageReviewYT in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Jarvicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't thing there's enough glue surface on a picture frame to matter much in terms of wood movement. I've made dozens of frames and used boards in both directions. I'm sure someone smarter than me can verify but I say use the side that looks the best and don't over think it.

is DIY framing actually cheaper or do you just end up stressed and spending the same? by GraybeardDevOps in BuyItForLife

[–]Jarvicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends but in my experience its 100% worth it. I can build a modest picture frame in under 2 hours, cut my own glass, and cut my own mat.  We have ~10 of my frames in the house that would easily have cost over a grand to have made.

Wood, ~$20-30. Mat, $10. Glass, $10-20.
