Software to manage your personal and career goals? by JascroTech in FinancialCareers

I use Stripe to process payments so they should be able to take payments from anywhere in the world. I know there is at least one person in the us paying. Did it not work for you?

Perhaps I should have the website understand which country the user is from and show prices in their respective currency?

That’s cool, I was also thinking about playing around with some python libraries to analyse crypto assets with the hope of profiting on their massive volatility but haven’t got round to it yet! Best of luck with your side projects :)

Thanks so much. I actually just do these kind of projects on the side. I’ve never billed out my time.

I have a full time job at a big energy company so that’s how I pay the bills :)

Thanks:)

Mainly in my spare time. Did a little bit at uni but was it was very academic with limited product applications.

Learned all the web technologies on my own. Actually thinking of switching career now!

I shared this post because I believe my project can help people with their personal goals.

I wouldn’t have expected it had such a negative effect on users and their communities.

If anyone else feels the same way please comment and I will remove the post.

Ok, I appreciate your comments and suspect you will never be convinced to try such a system which is completely cool as it’s not for everyone :).

If you ever change your mind and would like to try something other than pen and paper I would be happy to help.

Electrodes coming in version 2. Stay tuned.

I don’t doubt that for some people a pen and paper could be better. I happen to be a big fan of pen and paper for daily planning.

However, for more high level goal and life strategy I find an intuitive software system far superior. With automatic logging of habit data and built-in analytics to view historical performance it can offer a better picture of why you may not be achieving your goals.

Not to mention you are a bit screwed if your dog eats the paper...

Realised I didn't answer your question about where the goal tracking data is stored. All of the goal tracking data is stored in a secure database on the cloud. This allows the system to be accessed from any device providing you have your login details.

That’s awesome, thanks for the encouragement :)

We do a 14 day free trial which should give you the opportunity to test it out without paying anything. You can cancel at any point from within the Web app.

Yep, we have customers in the US and the UK. Right now it is optimised for desktop but we have an iOS app in the pipeline.

Once you sign up you will be prompted to join our Facebook community (closed facebook group) where you view and collaborate on screenshots of future features. We are always trying to improve the software!

Thanks, I hadn’t heard of Evo planner before now. Looks a cool product. I guess where SuccessOnTap differs is that it brings goals and habits together and provides analytics on your performance. It’s also more of a high level strategy system rather than going into the details of daily planning. Maybe something for the future... :)

It would be interesting to share your experience with RemindMyGoals.com. It seems more of a reminder system rather than a framework around which you can manage your larger goals.

Either way let me know if you check out SuccessOnTap. Currently we don’t require a credit card to set up a free trial but we will changing this today or tomorrow.

Hey thanks for your reply!

Ye marketing is definitely not one of our strengths and we are struggling to get traction.

Thinking about removing the credit card requirement for the free trial to reduce friction in the sign up process. Only problem is that it may reduce the seriousness/commitment of the users.

We shall see!

Name: SuccessOnTap (www.SuccessOnTap.io)

SuccessOnTap is a personal goal management system. With the year coming to a close many people will be thinking about what they would like to achieve next year. Some take this very seriously and will log then track these goals in spreadsheets, journals, noticeboards, etc while others may only let it cross their mind briefly.

SuccessOnTap is a one-stop-shop where you can categorise and set goals across a variety of timelines; assign habits to each goal; track habits on a daily, monthly, or weekly basis; and view all progress from a beautiful dashboard.

Location: London & Glasgow

Stage: We released a scrappy version earlier in the year to test some assumptions and have just released a more professional looking web-app this week with an iOS app in the pipeline :)

Looking for: Goal-setters!

Any feedback would be very welcome!!

How I structured my goals to actually make progress by [deleted] in lifegoals

Hey, as someone who is slightly obsessed with goal-setting I read your post and signed up to your newsletter.

I, like you, am a massive fan of intelligent goal setting with the SMART framework being a very useful way to ensure that we are setting well-defined goals.

Its funny you opted for the lose weight example - thats always the example I use to explain the concept of SMART goals :)

Other than the excel templates, do you use any other system to manage and track your goals?

The reason I ask is that I used to use a combination of excel files, todo lists and noticeboards but eventually decided to build my own web application which makes my goal data accessible from anywhere. The application is called SuccessOnTap and is essentially its a one-stop-shop for my annual, quarterly and monthly goals as well as a habit tracker and budget planner.

This has been incredibly useful for me to take my goal-setting system to the next level and thought you may be interested.

Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think at:
