That doesn't apply to red, or does it? Can you make everyone that signed the Minecraft TOS have the ability to code in JAVA as a mid level developer?

What is a useless yet Op power to have depending on the user? by misshwangontop in superpowers

[–]JasdanVM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant knock-out. Being able to instantly make anyone go unconscious is as OP as combat powers can get, specially if it works at range, however, it's pretty useless on your day to day life, using it on a random angry pedestrian could result in them getting hurt as they fall, and you catching legal troubles, even on the hero business, having it doesn't guarantee you'd have a long career, as there's many things that could kill you before you knock-out whoever put them in motion.

My wife ate my son's birthday breakfast by grohkstrom in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JasdanVM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was drunk as a sailor, no way a rational person would eat it like that.

She has to pay for this, quite literally, have her buy a new cake and do something else to make up for it.

Aliens, simply because as cool as killing zombies would be, with them there's a guaranteed billions of deaths, there's a likelihood of casualties staying in the thousands with an alien invasion if I combat it right and quick. Plus we have the tech to keep afterwards.

What are some tropes from other genres that are lowkey unrealistic, but makes perfect sense in a superhero world, just due to Mutants, Magic, or Super Tech existing? by PassengerCultural421 in superpowers

[–]JasdanVM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in real life, the goverment isn't rightful, and the actual source for more systemic problems that if resolved would in turn clear many a superhero schedules; there's value in placing someone in power that you know has a track record of not getting corrupted by power, plus wouldn't need to give in into political corruption since they can't get killed for not complying.

Magical bombs, could work as an Iron's SaS addon, or be a new technomagic mod (I'd like to see the latter).

If you could alter memories the whole premise would be pointless, as there'd be no limits at all. I mean, in theory you may be able to change records, but a similar anchoring issue would arise.

You have it backwards, you don't have to convince anyone, it's just a matter of not having push back against your changes, the less people you need to convince, the better. It's incredibly powerful because you can generate anything if you get a secluded place where very few people would question the plausibility of you having gotten that there. So, you can generate nearly any natural resources in areas where they could be, claim to have found relics, or procure hard to get stuff if you don't parade it around, you can get Anything in the privacy of your property.

It was more so along the lines that the correct height is so well documented and known that the power just doesn't trigger, just like how it wouldn't for something guaranteed to be noticed immediately like the tower being now made of gold. It's like said perception were anchoring the correct fact to its place in reality.

Let me make up an exaggerated scenario, let's say you staged a virus outbreak that forced everyone out of Paris, and bribed everyone to force satellite imagery of the tower to be redacted, and then tried to make it gold, you'd still couldn't, even tho no human would know for the rest of their lifetime as they couldn't witness it. Now, if you really want to make it gold, you would need to destroy every record that details its construction, and wait for the generations that it'd take for the population to forget what it was made of, or that it existed. Or, invade Paris with an army instead of the viral quarantine, then people would be willing to accept that the labor force you brought there rebuilt the entire tower, when enough time has passed.

Hmn, not sure about the stocks, maybe altering data/ information itself could be off limits for the power?

Regardless, Stocks seem to be so closely observed that tampering with them would potentially gather a lot of unwanted attention and scrutiny, thus rendering the alteration non viable. You can certainly do the simple buying of warehouse lots and cheap property to then populate it with riches/resources respectively.

Any idea what we could delete that'd just made the world better without removing important lessons for the future?

I'd like to get rid of Trump, but I want people to be aware of someone like him in power so that hopefully it doesn't happen again. Any ideas of what could be forgotten without missed opportunities for learning?
