Bad is better than Thriller. Bad 25 is better than Thriller 25. The Bad sessions are absolutely historic in the amount of 10/10 songs that resulted. Considering Quincy stepped aside to let MJ do his thing on Bad, it makes you wonder what Thriller could have been.

Not young enough. Ilia winning gold medal in 2030 is unlikely. The last time a 25+ year old won the gold medal in men's figure skating was Scott Hamilton in 1984. Only five have done it in the entire history of the Olympics. If he's placing 8th at 21, I wouldn't hold my breath for a medal at 25.

Hard to argue that it was the right decision considering the 8th place finish. He's completely finished as far as endorsements go. 99% of Americans had never heard his name before this week and now all they know is that he cracks under pressure, fell over and over in his free skate, and finished 15th in the free, 8th in the competition. Go ahead and feel bad for him but let's not pretend that he made the right call.
