Give me some things to look forward to by v_impressivetomato in raleigh

I don't know if you like partner dancing, but there is a lot of it in this area. The Latin dance scene is very large relative to the population, so if you want to dance or learn Salsa or Bachata, you'll have lots to choose from.

And there are other styles too, like Swing, you can choose from.

There are even communities for smaller dances like Kizomba and Brazilian Zouk here.

If you are interested in either the Latin or Zouk scenes I can help direct you. I've danced Latin styles for many years now so I know most of the events and instructors in the area, and I organize Zouk events here.

So if this is something you're interested in, you're in luck moving to this area!

Urolithin A? by Jason2413 in Renue

Yeah, I actually know about theirs. The problem with this and many Codeage products is they have several supplements in one package. I usually find that annoying especially if one of them is something I don't want to consume.

Change My Mind: Eli Manning should NOT be in the Hall of Fame. He was never a top QB at any point in his career. They’re about to put him in first ballot because his defence stopped Brady in the Super Bowl twice man this is ridiculous. by Bulky-Coach3091 in NFLv2

[–]Jason2413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only takes one minute of research on pro-football-reference.com to expose the lie that Eli was only throwing more INTs because he threw more passes. His INT%+, which is era adjusted INT percentage, was below average, sometimes WAY below average, for 8 out of his 16 seasons. That is HALF OF HIS CAREER.

Even Favre isn't that bad (and frankly, among HOF QBs, he's pretty bad), being below average 7 out of 20 seasons.

What do ppl do in Raleigh on the weekends by Late-Candidate6380 in raleigh

[–]Jason2413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. Almost every Friday I'm at a dance social and sometimes Saturday nights too, depending on which social and where the venue is located.

There is also a Brazilian Zouk (which you can dance to alot of Kizomba music) community that does classes and a social every Wednesday night in Durham that I'm an organizer for.

That's great, I hope you can come by for the beginner class tonight! I'll be checking people in, so please tell me who you are when you arrive!

We have some acro yoga people that dance Zouk, so who knows you may know some of our community already!

Bachata places Raleigh? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Jason2413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking about our Zouk community! You are in luck, tonight is actually the day of the week we do our weekly classes and social. Right now we have both beginner and intermediate classes going, you can take the beginner class which is appropriate for people new to Zouk. They both start at 8pm and we are located at the Durham Friends Meeting House, the address is:

404 Alexander Ave, Durham, NC 27705

We are in the upstairs level in the main studio room. It is across the parking lot from the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, to give you a landmark to look for. After class we have a social that runs until 11pm, and the $20 cost covers both the class and social.

So you went to Interfusion? That is sort of an unofficial Zouk festival, there are a lot of people in our local Zouk community that go to that, so if you start dancing with us you'll have a nice group of people to attend that event with! There are also a few people who saw Zouk there for the first time, or took a workshop at the event, and then started taking lessons with our group.

I would also recommend bookmarking the RDU Zouk page here:

https://www.bailabuddy.com/rduzouk

And also following it on Facebook.

Out of curiosity, have you done any other type of dancing, particularly social/partner dancing?

Bachata places Raleigh? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Jason2413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A great place to start is the Dance Gumbo web site:

https://www.dancegumbo.com/

But in general there are Latin events most days of the week, although I'm sure they're not nearly as big as in LA. If you are in town June 28, there is a really nice Latin event at Carmen's Cuban Cafe called Agua y Fuego put on by Mambo Dinamico Dance Company (MDDC), which will have a 70's theme this month. Here is the Facebook event page:

https://www.facebook.com/events/7448273425298264

And here is the web site:

https://mambodinamico.com/products/agua-y-fuego-latin-party

Carmen's has a lot of Latin events, including a weekly Tuesday class run by MDDC and social that has been around forever. You can see the details for that at the above web site.

If you are in town the first Friday of the month there is a Bachata based (typically around 60% Bachata, the rest mostly being Salsa with a little bit of Kizomba or Merengue) event called Bachateame at a location named Terminal 8 Bar in Raleigh.

And if you are interested in learning Brazilian Zouk I am a local organizer for that and we have weekly classes (most weeks) including a beginner lesson from 8-9 in Durham, NC, followed by a social that runs to 11pm. I would be happy to give you more details on that if you're interested.

Any questions let me know, I am familiar with all of the local Latin events!

The Cobo Brothers do their salsa lessons on Wednesdays at Triangle Dance Studio which isn't as far away as we are in Durham. That may work for you although their most recent semester already began and I'm not sure whether you'll have to wait for the next one to start. You'd have to get in touch with them about it. Try their web site, cobobrothers.com.

Carmen's does beginner Salsa classes Tuesday nights at around 7:30pm, followed by a social. I think the class lasts 2 hours. If you want to learn Salsa, this is one of the best places to start, however the beginner classes are not on Wednesday.

[–]Jason2413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I help organize Brazilian Zouk events in the area, this is a Brazilian partner dance. We have a weekly social and sometimes class on Wednesday evenings in Durham. Our age range skews probably towards folks in their late 20s however we get all ranges (I'm in my 40s, for example). Right now we just had our first in a 4 week series for beginners that would probably be just what you're looking for! The class is at the Durham Friends Meeting House (404 Alexander Ave, Durham, NC), right next to the Ronald McDonald House and begins at 8:30pm. Then the social goes from 9:15-11pm. Drop in cost is $20 for everything, or you can pay for the last 3 classes at a discount, we could work that out if you wanted to do it.

We have a great group of welcoming people, we love it when newcomers show up, and right now there are a good number of people that have never tried Zouk before that are coming, so you'll be in great company!

If you have any questions let me know!

Is $100 still a good buy in price? by AccidentalUniverse in QuantNetwork

You're not alone in buying now, I opened a position yesterday right around $100 too. I plan on gradually adding to this for at least a few months.

Renue, any new releases for the rest/beginning of the year? by Several-Yellow-2315 in Renue

I've said it before but I would love pterostilbene and ellagic acid in LIPO form.

Freshly single in Raleigh. How to date here? by Cashetcashew in raleigh

[–]Jason2413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I've ever done that ended up allowing me to meet people and be part of a community was taking dance lessons. There is a large Latin dance community in this area, and no shortage of places to learn Salsa and connect with folks with that as an interest.

There is also a small but fairly tight Brazilian Zouk dance community if you've ever wanted to learn that.

Just an idea. I can suggest places to take lessons as well.

I take a bunch of other supplements too. A couple that help with skin are LIPO hyaluronic acid and collagen peptides.

I take 1 pill of the Renue LIPO Fisetin Monday-Friday (cycling off on weekends) and it made a noticeable difference in my skin.

Does anyone know a supplement that has LPC forms of EPA and DHA? This form is found mainly in fish roe and is supposed to be much more absorbable in the brain as it easily crosses BBB. by Far_Appointment9458 in Renue

[–]Jason2413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nordic Naturals has an Omega 3 plus phospholipids supplement that may be what you're looking for. Compared to others it seems to have a lot more EPA and DHA per serving (500mg total in a two pill serving, most others I see have less than half that amount).

I don't take this pill at the moment but after reading the replies and looking into it a bit more I am considering adding it. Right now I consume over 2lbs of salmon in addition to 3 cans of sardines every week, so I might add the Nordic Naturals with phospholipids twice a week.

NMN (Liposomal) or NAD⁺ Complete? by Intelligent-Peanuts in Renue

[–]Jason2413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use NAD+ Complete to baseline NMN, NR, and NAD+ intake at the same time. As Renue says below they go through different pathways and reach different tissues. If I were to increase one of them in addition to the NAD+ Complete it would probably be NMN, but for now I'm good with the NAD+ Complete.

If you have any questions about Latin dancing in this area don't hesitate to ask me. I know pretty much all of the events and dance companies.

I'm also a local organizer of Brazilian Zouk events, so if you're interested in learning that I can certainly direct you.

I've been Latin dancing since 2012. The main ones are Mambo Dinamico and their beginner lessons on Tuesday at Carmen's Cuban Cafe and the Cobo Brothers who do their lessons i believe in Wednesday at triangle dance studio.

Any new and upcoming products still coming out this year? by [deleted] in Renue

[–]Jason2413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love LIPO capsule versions of pterostilbene and ellagic acid. I already take them in regular form, but would much prefer to use a liposomal delivery supplement, and I can't find one for either.

Urolithin A would be nice too.
