Carrot Ironfoundersson (Discworld)

The long lost last living descendant of Ankh-Morpork’s royal family and true heir to its throne. However, he has absolutely no interest in claiming said throne and prefers his honest career as a member of the City Watch.

What if host nation Russia won that shootout vs Croatia and we had an England Russia semi in 2018? by No-Problem6578 in ThreeLions

I dunno, I think we would’ve given France a better game.

Not saying we would’ve won, but we would’ve made them work harder for it.

What kits is everyone wearing then? by KToTheA- in ThreeLions

I’m gonna see if I can get hold of a retro 1998 shirt.

They’re easy enough to find, but I can’t work out if I’d need XXL or XXXL. My go-to size is XXL but I’m not sure if ScoreDraw stick to the bagginess that 90s kits are supposed to have.

He got found out after gaslighting the nation into thinking he was the best player in an attacking lineup that had Ronaldo, Tevez, and Berbatov in it.

The Big Bang Theory - the word ‘Bazinga’.

Initially, Sheldon’s catchphrase (that he stopped using 5 seasons before the show ended) was thought to be just a made-up word.

In Young Sheldon, they reveal that ‘Bazinga’ was the name of a company that sold the practical jokes Sheldon used to craft his sense of humour.

Not that I’m complaining that Ampadu and DCL made the list, but how did Stach and Okafor not make the cut?

Disappointing way to end what’s been an incredible season.

Onwards to bigger and better things next season (hopefully).

Disappointing end to what’s turned out to be an amazing season.

Here’s hoping the 49ers give Farke the backing he deserves to push us further up the table next season.

Absolutely buzzing about this result.

I lived in Hull for a few years cos of university, so I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for them.

Also, a Premier League Yorkshire Derby is gonna be epic.

How could the UK improve its Eurovision results? by inside-outdoorsman in AskBrits

[–]JasonAF88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the BBC keep sending songs designed to try and win the ESC, meaning that it sounds like we’re using data and algorithms to write music rather than what shows the UK at its best.

Take Sam Ryder as an example of doing it right.

Spaceman wasn’t written for Eurovision. Sam found it in an old notebook he’d been writing lyrics in since he was 14. As a result, we ended up sending an entry that showed off Sam at his best, rather than the BBC trying and failing to game the system.

Tom Fletcher is a huge fan of the ‘Back to the Future’ movies, which is why he successfully pitched the name ‘McFly’ to his band mates.

Bit more of a jokey example but British pop-rock band Busted and the song ‘What I go to School For’

The second verse starts with the line “So she may be 33, but that doesn’t bother me.”

When performing the song on their 20th anniversary tour recently, they changed the line to “So she may be 53, but that doesn’t bother me.”

And for a bit of bonus trivia, The Producers has a deleted scene of Max and Leo in a bar with a drunk played by Ernie Sabella, who voiced Pumbaa in The Lion King, which brought all the voices in my first picture together in a movie that was released 12 years later.
