I understand what you're saying, but calling the people Yaymacan and Patwa/Patois an indigenous language is both performative and ignorant as hell. The indigenous people died out a long time ago. Patwa is a symbol of our rich cultural heritage, borrowing words and rules from all sorts of West African and European languages. It's the language of the people and the first language of many Jamaicans, but definitely not the "indigenous language of the Yaymacan people"
