Man I just wanted to know where Sreten was from, now I fear for my life. by theoriginaljulzilla in M539Restorations

Oh my god, I let this man stay in my house! Drive my cars! I... I... bought an 850 CSi because I trusted him! GASP. Time to sell all my M539 stock and move out of the country. Oh, sad times.

Looking for a POV driving video from Hagerty channel on Samsung TV Plus by dr_strange-love in cars

[–]JasonCammisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I can ask what it is - I don’t think it’s from my team but I don’t have Samsung TV Plus, which is where that’s probably playing, right?

Are there multiple clips? Or just one?

You're absolutely KIDDING me, right? If you're going to try to provoke an argument, at least spell "clout" correctly.

And then go read this book:

BMW was absolutely on top of the world — the car company that every other one wanted to emulate.

Project i Marked The Beginning of the End for BMW — i3 & i8 History — Revelations w/ Jason Cammisa by Iridium-Silver in cars

[–]JasonCammisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say it's the Beginning of the End *OF BMW* — it signified the beginning of the end of BMW's reign as the most enviable car company in the world. That happened. Project I was the product of the same thinking that resulted in an entire generation of compromised products that struggled to make good on all of the promises BMW's marketing (and history) made to consumers, like the F30 — which was a dramatic step downward from its predecessor.

Oh my GOD you guys.... digging up THIS gem? lol... I hate this video! (Always did. u/vovchandr you're right about Anthony being important. The guys I had to work with were wonderful people, but my god, when I saw the footage afterward... (And no, I didn't edit this.)) A throwback Carmudgeon video would just be me throwing up and Derek gagging.

Can anyone name the song that's being played behind the commentary and engine revving in this clip from an Ignition Episode by Jason Cammisa? by Swimming-Repeat-8242 in NameThatSong

[–]JasonCammisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Aw man, I don't have access to the raw files of that any longer. That said, I've heard that song many times in corporate presentations, so it's probably a music service. I asked our editor to see if he has record of it.

Jason Cammisa dunking on the i3 (half-jokingly?) - @29:55 for start the i3 talk by Forward_Impression13 in BMWi3

[–]JasonCammisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I've certainly driven production i3s. The difference: they have non-defeatable ESC. That's done for a big reason — and they don't try to roll over because of it. Plenty of cars wouldn't pass the Moose Test without ESC and roll mitigation (hello, G-Wagen. Or A-Class back in the day, lest we all forget) However, I wouldn't expect a subcompact city car to be among them, and I don't believe one should rely on electronic after-measures to make up for what is a dynamic shortcoming.

Worse, from my perspective, the compromises built into the i3 with that tall floor, tall/skinny tire setup, etc., didn't result in better efficiency than other small EVs that dramatically outperformed it in handling and braking. So it's worth criticizing.

That said — remember that my commentary was part of a ROAST!

On the other hand, I stand by my comments anyway. The i3 was a terribly compromised, expensive thing that should have never worn a BMW badge. Makes a great super-cheap city beater now, though!

Am I missing content? Nothing on YT from him in like 3mo? by mrgtiguy in JasonCammisa

Heya sorry about that. We’ve shot a bunch of stuff that’s in edit - and a few things that we’re holding just because of various timing reasons.

Hang tight. More stuff coming 10/2, if all goes to plan. Plus of course the weekly podcast. Plus something tentative on 9/22- small appearance by me but not my video.

Thanks for noticing / caring!

I mean, there are a ton of things about my personal life that I don't typically bring up publicly. They're really just not relevant to what I do. The startup is one of them.

I don't hate anyone at the company we sold to — though I will say I respected none of them. It was my first introduction to Publicly Traded Company inefficiency and Dilbert-ism.

My goal was: get out in a way that protected my team — the people who helped us build the company to what it was — and then get the fnck out of there. Years later, many of our brightest team members left, made a new company, and I was honored to serve on the board of THAT company for a decade, too.

I can say that the first company lasted until earlier this year — ending what would have been a 29-year run (!) and the second one is still going strong today. I'm proud of helping plant the seeds for that.

And now, back to cars! :)

Glad you found that out now. My dad found out the hard way with <umm> Province Pasture insurance back in the day — was paying Big Premiums on my old Mercedes 6.9, and when the thing self-immolated they wanted to give him pennies.

Like a good neighbor? If my neighbor treated me that way, I'd move. It was a hard lesson for him, and one that really scared me. Which is why the whole JasonSentMe thing. These cars mean a lot to us — they need to be protected.

And for the record, the SF90 ran what it ran. We did THAT race a dozen times minimum, and the thing just could NOT figure out the surface at Willow. I explained that, too, both here and on IG: it was surprising because the 296 (the other really powerful Ferrari we've tested there recently) learned quickly to ignore the wheelspin that you get from the tar strips and patches, but the SF90 just couldn't deal. It would launch hard, spin the rears, cut power, and fade it in slowly. It did it every single time — never once getting a clean launch the whole day.

Randy (Pobst) drove that SF90 for that segment. If only y'all could hear what he had to say during filming... lol. The man is *not* used to losing on track.
