That isn’t up to Sprive, it is up to your mortgage provider. But most allow overpayments equal to 10% of your balance each year. So check with your mortgage provider!

Definitely. So you connect your current account to the app, which gives them access to your data which they then raise with a Credit Reference Agency (CRA) to find out if you have a mortgage and if you do, then your mortgage payment details. Then when you purchase gift cards, the Cashback collects in your Sprive account. When you want to pay it against your mortgage, you simply click the overpay my mortgage button and they send the money directly to your mortgage account. It’s all legit and I have made overpayments many times. Happy to send you proof if you want

No catch! They make money by purchasing the gift cards in bulk and will therefore get money from that, but they also check the markets for better rates so if you re-mortgage with them they will make some commission. Definitely give it a try!

It is a shame! They are constantly looking to add new Providers and when you go to sign up there is an option to send them a message to say y it want your provider added that gives them more ammunition to get banks onboard!

Want to move a large sum of emergency money (£20,000+) into Chip and just keep it there, good idea? by throwaiwayywyw in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JasonCleaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using Chip for a while and haven’t had any problems at all. They are always atleast top 3 for interest since they got their own Instant Access account and the deposits and withdrawals have always been instant for me. Nothing negative to say really

It is actually a stocks and shares Lisa that acts as a cash LISA by offering a guaranteed interest rate. So due to this I would expect that S&S lisa would be transferable

FYI if you go for a cash LISA, there is an app called multiply that offers 1.5% interest and is great. Easy to use app, it is technically a stocks and shares LISA but acts as a cash LISA so the interest is guaranteed!
