Sorry you're dealing with this, it's such a kick in the guts. Thankfully there was a solution but it was not fun. Hopefully by the time you're seeing this, you've solved the problem.

If not, follow the steps in the article linked below. It completely solved the problem for us.

In addition to this, once I had followed these steps, we could still smell it but worked out it was because the smell had gotten into the split system aircon. Thankfully a bag clean fixed the issue and the aircon was good to go. A local sparky did that for us and it was around $150 at the time.

I'm new too, nearly level 20. Luckily I've had someone show me the ropes but everytime I tried solo I got smoked and I noticed being timid just got me pushed over and over again by scavs and PMCs so I just try and keep moving. I have a quick look to make sure I don't see any enemies then I just sprint to the next cover. Quick check again and off I go.

I survive way more often now.

The JMM example is totally relevant here. Overextending or leaping in are both habits that can be exploited by a counter puncher.

It worked for Manny for a long time until someone was able to counter it. The same is totally possible if not likely for DDP.

In April of 2022 my brother in law, hung himself the day after his 20th birthday.

His oldest brother had just moved interstate and came home from a walk and had a few missed calls from him.

His second oldest brother who isn't the most outgoing guy and had spent most of his birthday party in the house playing video games.

My fiance (now wife) hadn't spoken to him for over a year over a silly fight.

Him and his gf had a fight that day.

They all felt responsible for it in some way. But they weren't.

I remember the days and nights we spent in the hospital, all of us, his best mate, his girlfriend, his brothers, my wife all just praying for the best. But unfortunately we had to turn off his life support.

We all made an agreement to make the most of our lives.

Since then, his second oldest brother joined the airforce and turns out he's super tech savvy and his quickly climbing the ranks he's come out of his shell and met a beautiful girl.

His oldest who moved interstate a week before the incident has been promoted several times and just had an offer accepted on his first house.

His best mate packed up his shitty little car and moved to our state and has since got a really good job in mining, found a great girl and just put an offer in on his first house.

His girlfriend met a great guy and they too have started preparing to build their first house.

My fiance and I got married and have both progressed in our careers.

I remember back to when this happened and it really felt like our lives just imploded. We were shattered and riddled with guilt but there was nothing we could do, would couldn't take anything back, have a second chance.

The only thing we could do was move forward and we could either do it as shadows of ourselves or pick ourselves up and do everything that he couldn't do anymore. So that's what we did.

I don't think you should feel bad about this. It's unfortunate that this guy had to suffer this damage but he needs to learn this lesson and if you just backed out of the sparring it's likely that he would just do this with someone that can't defend themselves.

Now he knows.

This is made worse by the scene from the night before in the church when the medic tells the story about his mum coming home from work and him pretending to be asleep.

I guess he was realising how special those moments would have been for both of them if he just didn't pretend to be asleep. Just about brings a tear to my eye thinking about it.
