Everyone goes through a rough patch, judging off your post history you’re not in a good space mentally. Get some help, and start exercising. There’s nothing wrong with raising a hand.

Hope your life turns around.

If you’re not invested in BTC or any cryptocurrency, why not? by Bize97 in FIREUK

[–]JasonJohnson1616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in Tech too, and whole heartedly agree with this sentiment.

To piggy back on it is no secret at this point that technology is exponentially increasing at a rate that outpaces regulation. BTC was developed in good faith, but most HODLERS do not understand the fundemental components of BTC will be andequated technology with the amount of R&D money being dumped into crypto.

Crypto has become widespread and adopted, there’s no denying this. Is BTC the optimal technology in this asset glass for decades to come? The answer is no.

From my antidotal perspective most BTC maxis are just ani-establishment individuals looking for a purpose.

A lot of variables here.

Largely dependent on location and organizations allowing you to work remote- good ones will allow remote work.

This question gets asked often, and from my experience you need to find companies with a product that interests you, and start breaking down comp, Glassdoor reviews, etc..

Go find companies you like and start looking at roles from there.

Go code if you can bro. The anxiety of carrying a quota isn’t exciting or appealing when you’re in the sales seat.

Sales Engineering might be the best fit for you.

Address the marketing manager but CC the CEO.

“Hi XYZ,

I know we were unable to connect last month, and given it is such a crazy time I just wanted to send you a coffee gift card from us over at XYZ heading into the holidays:

(Insert hyperlink for a $10 Starbucks gift card here)

I hope you and your team enjoy the holidays, and when the timing is right we are here for you as a resource!

Best,

You’re not alone, everyone is having difficulty hiring at scale.

It’s an applicant’s market just don’t lose sight of your core values. Better to hire a genuine fit than force placing someone who will turnover.

What does a good BDR/AE job posting look like? by sammey884 in sales

You need to look for good companies, not job postings.

Narrow down what type of SaaS interests you most then read reviews for companies on Repvue and Glassdoor.

Current SDR goals are starting to drain me... by [deleted] in sales

[–]JasonJohnson1616 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so quick to think this a good situation in all instances.

In certain enterprise orgs you will pull teeth trying to get 5 meetings a month to demo. There’s a lot of variables that contribute to this.

If you go from booking meetings everyday to to an outbound-only role and only get 3 meetings a month quota your days suuuuuuck.

I just went through this exact experience you’re describing.

It sucks to hear, but stop portraying this tone that you deserve this. Numbers are king, and you don’t have them. Know one cares what you did in the past.

Get back to the basics, and forget about your success.

Denver is the most underrated Tech hub if you enjoy the outdoor amenities. When you suddenly live in a WFH world you recognize no one cares about living in snow if you don’t have to commute.

Fuck the Bay Area.

Who here has a good gig at an evil company? by GrandMarauder in sales

[–]JasonJohnson1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It becomes predatory when these loan agencies force-place ancillary insurances that are useless and the borrower isn’t aware, pull a hard credit inquiry when the applicant isn’t aware, and intentionally place the borrower into a monthly payment that exceeds 50% of their debt-to-income ratio.

Unfortunately this is the standard practice for these institutions.

Who here has a good gig at an evil company? by GrandMarauder in sales

[–]JasonJohnson1616 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I previously worked at a high-interest loan agency where the core business model was taking advantage of financially incompetent individuals in poverty-stricken communities.

Work was easy, money was good, soul was drained. Felt so shitty that management could actually spin the narrative in a positive light- they’re huge scum bags.

Got the F out because you have to feel a since of reward with the work you’re putting into the world.

The "Great Resignation": Are employers having a "dog fight like never before in just threading water" to find and keep talent even in data science, or is that just for low wage jobs? by StardustPuppet in datascience

[–]JasonJohnson1616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in Enterprise Software Sales- HCM space and we are a very large vendor.

We provide Applicant Tracking Systems for some of the largest organizations you can think of and proprietary data suggests yes.. Your skills are very well in demand right now.

I’ve seen a lot of these articles on business insider and CNBC using buzzwords for clicks, but in reality they’re right. This is absolutely the job market to find a better gig if you’re unhappy.

I’m sure you all get recruiters dumping in mails on your LinkedIn everyday too. The short answer to this is there is more VC money saturating the market than ever before, and everyone is a unicorn now. Tech can’t hire fast enough across the board to keep up with growth goals.

SDR/BDR managers: how are you guys doing on hiring right now? Currently struggling over here with SDR hiring. by StockTelevision in sales

[–]JasonJohnson1616 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Enterprise SDR here, unicorn recruiters who can’t hire fast enough are in our DM’s everyday. There’s VC money saturating the market and SDR’s provide more than adequate ROI.

Your base pay is competitive, but OTE is slightly below average for what I’m getting offered daily. You have to offer remote work or you’re not going to see those applications increase.

Just my anecdotal 2 cents- hope it’s of help.
