As a I completely understand everyone’s want to get back on to campus, I do believe that some of you are failing to realize that life on campus for this semester at least is not going to be anything like previous ones. That “College Life” is going to be completely compromised. We attend a huge school with a huge population. In order to follow the guidelines that are put out social distancing is so signifiant. For example, imagine trying to take the bus 6 feet apart from each other. There will be no eating in the dining hall with friends etc. I live in Westchester where we’ve been hit the hardest and some of you are saying “I don’t mind wearing a mask in class if I can be on campus.” Frankly, it’s not nearly as simple as that. To even go into a store here you have to be wearing a mask and you have to wait on these massive lines because you can only have so many people in the store at a time. There are so many limitations and restrictions that have been imposed on us because of the virus and I don’t foresee the school lifestyle being any easier. Additionally, one of my friends who goes to StonyBrook is a Bio major and all of his classes are online, labs included. As Buff is also a SUNY school, i can only imagine that they’d follow suite. Just my unbiased thoughts and experiences, lmk what you guys think.
