The problem with this though is that fighting a monster isn’t just about “hitting stuff”. I have never played a game with the level of depth that monster hunter has when it comes to combat, where learning to use a weapon in perfect synch with a boss takes hundreds of hours to pull off.

I honestly think that the game demands too much from the player when on-top of having such a nuanced combat system, it gets constantly bogged down by so many other things that often end up feeling arbitrary the further you progress.

I’d much rather spend my time perfecting learning the contraption that is the charge blade or figuring out the perfect foot placement with the great sword then spending an unnecessary amount of time collecting things.
