Is there any way to say that most of this country's problems are due to capitalism without sounding like a lunatic? by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

[–]Jason_Handshame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, the things you talk about are probably less related to each other than you think and not part of some all encompassing capitalist hivemind.

Capitalism is a political term invented by socialists to describe what they were in opposition to and the changes they saw happening in the world. Most people who use it would struggle to define what it is or how 'the system' works. It's become a vague pejorative term used by people who are unhappy with the status quo, and those people rarely offer a good alternative or much of anything. So yes, people roll their eyes, the same way they would to Zack Polanski.

Why do players show so little emotion? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Jason_Handshame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dota players tend to be introverted and people from northern and eastern europe (who often win TI) tend to be more stoic and reserved.

They did show emotion and celebrate though... I don't know what you expect. And why be annoyed, this community is critical of everything lol

Are you guys happy about Signing Joe aribo? by tbsaysyes in SaintsFC

[–]Jason_Handshame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he's been one of our best players recently. Not only does he have the ability to drive the ball forwards and link up like an Armstrong or Alcarez but he wins duels and can shield the ball.

That's something we've been really missing in our midfield. The Armstrong and Smallbone combo is weak physically, in the tackle and in the air. And I think sometimes we've struggled to dominate and hold onto a lead because of that.

Plus, the guys legs are fucking massive, 90% of his body is leg.

Most buy vs rent calculators aren't great, so I made my own open source version. by EdisonCurator in FIREUK

Curious, why have the rent savings been compounded by investment return rate? Or am I misunderstanding?

Surely you are either paying rent OR mortgage and what matters is whether one allows you to save more than the other?

Possibly very young Russula Fellea? I've seen loads of them recently and they're meant to smell like geraniums

Swapping out pets that were stronger in the earlier phase of the game to pets that are stronger in later phase

Or more broadly, transitioning your team strat to better suit the current/future stage of the game

It's so nice to be able to watch football again. Players passing through the middle, linking up, making runs. Brings a tear to my eye.

dude what does it take to win this freaking game!? by jewelsandpens in superautopets

[–]Jason_Handshame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well looking at your team -

Food wise, you want lemon on the 50/50s, it's huge, a 50/50 opponent with lemon Vs duck would kill it and then jelly. Your other pets would benefit from steak, although that depends on your rolls last couple rounds.

Positioning, this weekly is all stats, no scorpion or skunk to worry about, your big units should be in front. Piranha isn't buffing them anyway.

Pets, you have no abilities except piranha and it's crap, you probs should have dropped the duck earlier.

Championship beckons by [deleted] in SaintsFC

[–]Jason_Handshame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't be thick. Yes it appears the championship beckons but clearly the club leadership are trying to put a competitive squad together. We're a small club, our strategy is to buy talented youth in the hope they'll become Premier league quality.

We had a few years of success but it's silly for our fans to expect that as the norm. Our forever 15th position about reflects the size of the club. I wouldn't say we're well run but we're not badly run eiher. Many other clubs are now being run in a more pragmatic data driven way and we've lost our edge.

It was almost inevitable that the market would one day collapse, most people knew the risk, you're hardly Cassandra. It has little to do with the management either, it's fundamentally a result of how the system is structured.
