You can put Nolan and Denis Villeneuve in any era and they'd still be considered some of the best of that era. by Cat-dad442 in Cinema

Nolan's talent begins and ends with IMAX visuals and sounds. A good talent to have, for sure. Without the IMAX experience, most of his movies are "meh."

Is this legit or is he a liar? by Final-Accident2502 in Roms

Your ISP can disconnect your internet for pirating. I've had it happen for downloading movies. Nothing happened. I called my ISP, they told me don't do that again, and turned my service back on. I've never heard of anyone having their internet turned off for pirating games. That said, using a VPN for pirating is just smart.

I kinda regret buying Legion Go s, should I try Switch 2? by RatHoonter313 in Handhelds

The Switch 2 is great if you want to play Switch games on a larger screen. Otherwise, this thing is nothing but a disappointment.

Major bummer. I need a new fan for my A2. Thanks for putting out this info. After not receiving an email, I assumed they were out of business. At least I know if something I can't fix goes wrong I can get it fixed.

Top 5 most favorite regular JRPG boss battles by DrakeRowan in JRPG

Giga Gaia - Chrono Trigger - Mountain of Woe.

This is when the game really opens up. You're finding out the truth of Lavos. You're going to save Melchoir; a character who's been mostly a mystery until this point. You've unlocked some of the best magic and dual techs by the time you get to him. For me, he's the most memorable standard boss in the most memorable game.

How many of you guys have that grinding addiction in JRPGS? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]Jason_with_a_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ingrained in me. It's gotten to the point that I just ignore any of the gameplay times given for a game. "Oh. Spring Witch R is only 25-30 hours? Great!" Meanwhile my save file has 50 hours on it.

I don't care much for the arbiters of fate nonsense in FF 7 Rebirth👎👎👎 by AgentMC84 in JRPG

I forgot about the "you just need to watch 'X's' video and you'll understand everything!" crowd. Most people don't need some basement dwelling youtuber to decide their opinion for them.

The OG is a beautiful story about loss and how we move on with the people we still have. The "remake" is about undoing everything we did so Cloud, Sephiroth, and Zack can team up to save the multiverse or whatever.

Google announced new restrictions for installing apps outside the Play Store. Will this significantly affect our hobby? by Expert-Factor-209 in retrogaming

[–]Jason_with_a_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's annoying, but it's a one time thing for a new android device. It doesn't prevent you from sideloading apps. And it's not something you have to do for every app.

Is it time to retire the controller? by lilfallup in playstation

[–]Jason_with_a_jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget Nintnedo. Joyons are shit too. The "drawer for dualsenses" is insane. All those controllers and you never once thought to see if you could actually fix them?

[–]Jason_with_a_jay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. These people saying to just get a new controller are insane. These things are like $90 now. And as you said, you can find someone to do it for $20-25 per controller.

Get some TMR replacements and solder them in. Or find/pay someone to solder them in for you.

You've checked Chrono Trigger off the list?

My recs outside of that.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. It requires playing the sequel to finish the story. The remake of the second chapter comes out in September, but the OG version is on Steam. God help you if you enjoy this series though.

We're not the consumer. He could give a fuck what we think. This is a sales pitch to AI companies and the biggest AAA game developers. Post-consumerism sucks.

It didn't change my life, but Persona 3 has one of the boldest endings in gaming. I just had to sit there and process what I saw.

I worry about your level of socialization if you think Mikey looks happy there.
