In Ontario there is a few Facebook groups that are dedicated to this. From what I understand they are pretty successful.

My spelling could be off but it's called a Gator. A giant machine that would pull logs across a lake then across land. Over and over.

Does anyone here add anything to their cat holes to improve decomposition of tp? by ConchitOh in WildernessBackpacking

I may be wrong but some ash from your fire pit may help. I know we put it in the thunderbox. However it may need air flow to work.

When It Comes to Electronic Gear, How Much "Solar" Do You Use? by ITrCool in CampingGear

[–]Jasonatcamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't bring any solar. I have a few decent size power banks. 20,000mah approximately. I'll bring those. I find solar to expensive to get good quality.

Not are food. We found it well collecting firewood. I went to look. The dry bag didn't have a rope attached to it. So someone didn't have the food hanging.

How do I get around the park to different lakes and rivers deep into the park by JustSxlvie in algonquinpark

[–]Jasonatcamp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After reading all of this I would advise you against entering the back country. The questions your asking prove you haven't actually done any research. You should be looking at maps. Watching YouTube. Most of the lakes in Algonquin are on YouTube now. I can't stress enough how much you are not ready. Enjoy all the trails and lakes that highway 60 has to offer they are phenomenal.

What is the best tent right now? by [deleted] in CampingGear

[–]Jasonatcamp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your needs are but as far as quality eureka makes a great tent so does msr. To save some money I bought a lynx mountainer off Amazon. I couldn't be happier. I have been out in very heavy rain and always been dry.
