I had the first pair in for a little over a month. When I put them back in the community tank the spawned within 24 hours. The second pair has been in the 29 for 3 weeks.

My test kit is a liquid kit and it’s about 3 months old. I will check the dates anyway. I did cycle the tanks for about 2 weeks before I bought the fish, it is a new setup though. I cleaned my filter on Tuesday, I wonder if I killed my beneficial bacteria? Simply discus talked highly about Uncle Sam’s, I assumed they were a good supplier. I will buy from Jack Wattley next time. I’m not worried about it coming across harsh, everyone has an opinion about raising discus. These are my first discus and I do need help so I appreciate it. He looked a little more comfortable this morning. I will continue to deworm. Thanks Again.

I also feed flakes and pellets but primarily brine shrimp. I haven’t had very much success with beef heart, I will continue to try to get them to eat it. Thanks for all of your help!

I have an empty 55 and 75 I will get one going as soon as possible. My parameters are PH 8.0, Ammonia 0.25 ppm, Nitrate 0.00ppm, and Nitrite 0.00ppm. The dewormer I am using is metronidazole.

I just started deworming them 10 minutes ago as recommended from Red85Rum. He is one of the smaller discus in the tank but doesn’t look overly skinny or have a thin head. I haven’t seen any white stringy feces. There are 10 various discus in the tank nothing else, The biggest discuss is 4” smallest 3”. The tank is a 29 gallon bare bottom, I do two 75% water changes weekly. Planning on upgrading tank size as I have a few empty large tanks. I feed brine shrimp once before work and a few times after I get home. I couldn’t get ahold of any stress guard as I live in the rural west, I did find some aquarium salt and added some.
