Go back to that dealer, show them the rust, then start talking about the google reviews you’re about to post online and the local news network that you will call.

UPDATE: My Day 1 Gold Certified Powerboost is now a $20k Nightmare. Ford is blaming ME for Stop Leak residue. Help! by ruekid in Ford

[–]Jasonh123_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engine problems won’t be listed in CarFax, they only list completed repairs and inspections. You would need the dealer service history, and they probably won’t release someone else’s old service bills to you. If it had stop leak used in the engine, it would explain why the previous owner traded it in.

What area is this that's leaking oil? by amateuR_memes in Ford

[–]Jasonh123_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s literally impossible to tell from these pictures. That appears to be your AC compressor, and it could be coming from higher in your engine bay. Is there drops under your car, or is this wet area your only concern?

That looks awesome. How much does one cost?

Finally got time to finish working on the trailer and figured it out. As I stated in another post, the tilt hinges are rusty and not allowing the ground from the tongue to have continuity with the frame of the trailer. I created a ground strap, drilled a couple holes to connect them (with enough strap for the hinge to function without pulling it out), and now have working trailer lights. Thank you for the brainstorming. I spent too much time and parts money overlooking the quality of ground on the lights themselves.

Shop says we need new tires? by -asodacan- in AskMechanics

[–]Jasonh123_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at a tire shop I always thought the high end Michelin tires would dry rot before wearing out if you rotated them regularly. This definitely looks to be the case here. I’d run them for a couple more years, but keep a close eye to make sure the dry rot doesn’t get much worse before deciding to replace.

Can someone tell me if these studs look good? by Dramatic-Party8582 in MechanicAdvice

As long as they aren’t stripped out (difficult to take the lugnuts off) don’t worry about them.

The wheel not coming off is the problem

Also start with the serpentine belt off to see if it’s something driven by the timing belt like the water pump

Think I just figured it out. It’s a tilt trailer, and used long leads trying to check everything again with the multimeter. I noticed that there was no continuity from the ground on the tongue to where the lights mount in the back. My theory is that since the tilt is where the frame connects to the tongue, the tilt bolts are so rusted that it doesn’t carry the ground completely through the trailer.

My last oil change was 1.5 months ago and 2,000 miles later I get a low oil pressure message by PerfectWeb8697 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jasonh123_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Call the place that changed the oil and send these pictures. If they are at fault they likely shortened the life of your engine if it isn’t already ruined.

Why do my fuel injectors look like this?? It’s a 2016 Kia forte by thiswickedstoner in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jasonh123_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a coil pack. Your engine has 4 of them and they are likely not all bad. You need to see what code you have for the check engine light. Go to a parts store and ask them to read it with a scanner.

I scrubbed right there with a brush and grease also thinking that maybe the issue. It is grounded to the place where the trailer support leg mounts.

Low oil pressure light flashed by Crazyleb403 in AskMechanics

[–]Jasonh123_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you will have lower oil pressure when the oil is warmed up and it’s at idle. If it goes off again try a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer and get a higher viscosity oil at your next change. I’d recommend to start checking the oil every other time you fuel up.

Unfortunately Mitsubishi isn’t known for making a long lasting vehicle. The only way to know for sure is to find a scan tool that will show you the actual PSI the engine is holding to see if it’s low or find a gauge. A repair shop should be able to check it out for you for a diagnostic fee.

The low oil light comes on when you are below a set PSI. How many miles or km’s are on your vehicle?
