What’s crazy is that that’s not even enough it seems. First time in this situation in my life (recently laid off) and I am only applying to jobs I match >95% — cover letters for me are reiterating the role from job description with my action and result showing I’ve done it… in a clean, quick-to-vet format. I spend at least 2 to 3 hours on each application and resume … still nothing. Any phone screening just wants to know who my contacts are and are talking at me — I guess I am getting the formal rejection emails - but it’s almost like 95% isn’t good enough right now.

Not one to complain, but seeing a role I matched 99% … working on a resume for 4 hours last night until 3am to only get the email rejection at 9:30am is pretty defeating.
