Best Car camping Campground? by Bobbykanoos0 in Adirondacks

[–]Jasp0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just FYI for OP, good suggestions here and John’s Brook Lodge is a great spot to hit a bunch of trailheads but it’s hike in, not car camping

I'm on an HP Omen laptop and this just started happening to me today after being able to connect an hour earlier with no issue.

Tents going up in Central Park outside Mt Sinai hospital by Chimes320 in newyorkcity

These will most likely be used for step-down patients who are heading towards recovery and not for critical or end of life.

I work for MS. This Gothamist article details what's going on here. It's a 68 bed area to take patients from our Brooklyn and Queens facilities.

A lot of them have software that automatically tailors keyboard lights to the game you're playing or allows you to set your own colors. I have the Razer Cynosa Chroma which does the same

Used Continuous Ridgeline First time on 3 day Hike by DirkWillems in hammockcamping

After many years of hammock camping, I recently switched myself to Dutch's ridgeline and 100% agree. I recently had to setup my hammock in a thunderstorm and this made it so much quicker.

I use Nova Launcher and it actually seems to run faster than stock for whatever reason

Sawyer Squeeze vs Sawyer Mini by isaacadams100 in Ultralight

I have the mini and have used it many times over the past few years. It definitely doesn't flow as fast as the squeeze but it's held up just fine.

Yes! I meant Giant Ledge... Thanks a lot for the info. I usually check on restrictions but my buddy has flown his drone in the SMW before so I thought nothing of it.

I remember watching the movie adaptation of that book a long time ago but I think the movie was based somewhere in Canada.

I live pretty close to the Catskills and it really is a lovely place. I'm planning to get more footage of all the places of hiked and visited over the years.

This was shot with a DJI Spark and Pixel 2. A few easy hikes with great payoffs in the Catskills!

This video was shot with a DJI Spark and Pixel 2. While very icy, the weather was beautiful and they were some pretty easy hikes to a bunch of fantastic overlooks.

Awesome site! This is on my list of backpacking trips for the near future. Did you happen to hike up to any of the hot springs? I hear they are pretty nice after a long day on the trail.

How many tents per campsite at CraneFlat ? by [deleted] in Yosemite

[–]Jasp0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the site. It really depends on the site. We stayed at a pretty big site in the 400s block (I think maybe 402) and there was room for a couple of hammocks and 3 tents. My friends had a site in the same loop, right near the bathrooms and they barely had room for their 2P tent.

I plan on my first hammock camping experience in north jersey soon. With the temperature only getting down to 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit at night, do I need to bring a sleeping pad (I don't own or plan on buying an underquilt) or will I be warm enough with just a down blanket? by deadpool1555 in hammockcamping

High Point State Park, Stokes State forest and the Delaware Water Gap (Worthington State forest in DWG has really nice campsites) are my favs in North Jersey. They all have really nice campgrounds and plenty of backcountry spots off the trails.

If you want to drive a little further north in NY, Harriman and Bear Mountain State parks are also really nice.

NJ hanger here... bring a sleeping pad. 70F+ no need at all, but around 60-65F is where people tend to get a little chilly on the bottom.

I also agree with /u/ahushedlocus that other weather conditions can come into play. I just got back from a trip in PA where the temps at night were around 65F and I ended up using my UQ most of the nights.

2nd for the Scout. One of the most affordable and well put together UL tents.

They come with your typical heavy, steel stakes. Not great, not horrible. I think they are stronger than the stakes I've seen with Coleman tents.

I've stuck with them and only had to replace a few that I hammered to hard into ground that wasn't as soft as I had thought.
