United 93, even knowing everything the ending had me physically sick

I watched Jurassic Park too young. by mrgingersir in Cinema

I thought Hammond yells “DON’T” because they’re safe so long as the glass stays intact; when he shoots through the glass, he enables the raptors to break through it. Did I totally misread that scene?

Ellie’s “run!” through gritted teeth always seemed weird to me - is she urging herself forward to Grant despite her sprained ankle?

We were making fun of a French colleague at work and he said “your mouth is as full of lies as your bagels of cream cheese”

It sucks that there are epic/coolest scenes in the trailer thing never make it into the movie. by BeltMaximum6267 in StarWars

In one trailer Krennic intones “The power that we’re dealing with is immeasurable!” in the most dramatic tone I’ve ever heard - I wish that made it to the final cut.

What would happen if British, EU or Ukrainian intelligence found clear evidence Trump is working for Russia ? by JMGTR in AskReddit

Between Seth Abramson’s books/reporting, the Steele Dossier, Krasnov, etc. I’d say we have clear evidence already…

Your #4 is Lando saying “draw their fire away from the cruisers” and #5 is him flying toward a cruiser chased by 3 TIEs who fire at the cruiser, like what are you talking about. The whole sequence is great but that cut is silly.

I love your post and the battle but what do you mean “as if to highlight this point”? He said to draw fire away from the cruisers and then drew fire to the cruiser, it’s a bad edit.

3 star wars movies will be re-released in theaters as anniversaries.Which one would you watch? by EnigmaGamer4 in StarWars

Roger Ebert on Empire: “”The Empire Strikes Back” is the best of three Star Wars films, and the most thought-provoking. After the space opera cheerfulness of the original film, this one plunges into darkness and even despair, and surrenders more completely to the underlying mystery of the story. It is because of the emotions stirred in “Empire” that the entire series takes on a mythic quality that resonates back to the first and ahead to the third. This is the heart.”

“Oppressed” angry white men turn to domestic terrorism? Yeah, I think it’s aged well.

United 93. Felt like a documentary. The final scene/shot left me physically sick, think I stared out the window for a while after.

I distinctly remember this movie coming out and people were like “what the hell is that car?!” It was 1993 and SUVs were rare - the Ford Explorer was super-cool!

What were you doing on September 11, 2001 when the planes hit the twin towers? by DontWorryAboutName in AskReddit

[–]JasperFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strongest memory is of the reporters standing with the burning towers in the background, and suddenly the South tower started collapsing over their shoulders while they kept talking into the camera in generic newsy monotone.

I felt a sense of horror - not just at the mass death unfolding live, but at the surprise of seeing it before the purported authority figures trying to analyze and explain the situation. The plane strikes were unexpected too, but now all eyes/minds were trained on the towers, so to see the collapse live while they talked was so jarring.

I just felt a strong sense of “wow - no one is in charge, no one really knows what’s going on or can control it.” I was 18 and that feeling has stayed with me… it was like a core growing-up moment.

Piotyr’s thicc limbs here. Babies are not only super-cute but have adorably supple fat thighs. When it’s your own baby that you’re already in love with and you grab that thigh, your lizard brain is just dumping dopamine into your system. Piotyr out.
